Red naped sapsucker persists

The red naped sapsucker in the Peruvian pepper tree on the Bob Jones Trail has been a frequent visitor lately, in spite of the paucity of other birds.  Karen Hall and I have seen it early and late in the day.  Here is a shot:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/avilavicki/31968213034/in/photostream

If you are unfamiliar with the spot in Avila Beach, one way to get there is to park on Avila Beach Drive near the sewage treatment plant just past San Luis Drive.  Walk toward the creek and across the footbridge and up hill.  Turn right at the intersection with the trail/road and walk about 200 yards to the trail marker for the Peruvian Pepper Tree on the right.  It is near the maintenance buildings for the golf course.
