Pine Siskin Flock in Los Osos, too
Mike Bush
Hi SLOCO Birders -
Jeanne and I have been seeing Pine Siskins for about three weeks at our home among coast live oak trees east of Southy Bay Rd., and south of Los Osos Valley Rd. This past week we've hosted as many as 25 at a time - with as many feeding on the ground as at the thistle-sock feeders. They also feed on the millet in the 'regular' bird feeders. Most amusingly they are fun to watch as they appear to have more 'attitude' than the goldfinches who share their thistle. Photo of a small tussle can be seen: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bushblog/8136762534/in/photostream Best in birdin'! Mike Bush Los Osos
