Today I got a message from Faber-Castell on my question on the 25cm scale length -- see below for the full reply in German.

At FC they were not able to help us any further on this matter, but it is great that they replied. It will be no surprise that all that might know of this slided away from us into eternal calculations. In their reply however, the FC worker gave two names that might reveal some more (the names and ISBN are in the mail citation). I haven't looked for the authors -- Dieter Jezerski and Peter Holland and title yet. If anyone needs the literal translation of the message, please let me know and I'll add it here.

Since Peter is a member of this forum, first of all it is a great compliment that FC gave reference to your knowledge (!), but secondly it makes me curious if or what information you might have on the 25cm matter!
