Re: No input devices
Hi David,
did you run Zadig on the new computer? Brgds, Edouard.

No input devices
Just setting up on a new PC. Copied all the files from a working installation. Program starts, asks for VCRUNTIME. Installed both 32- and 64-bit versions.
Program now starts, but doesn't show the expected input devices. HackRF works with Spektrum, not seen in the SDRangel list. Pluto likewise. Feel I must be missing something obvious (again!). Hi Michael, I am sorry you damaged the TX. In USB, the carrier changes amplitude it is true, but it is always there. In AM, FM and WFM the carrier should be there at the top. That changes when you change the TX value, yes. That is not the point. The question is to get the carrier suppressed as it was done in 435MHz. So the difference should be 40dB at least. This spike makes LimeSDR to work delivering a continuus signal, so breaking it is easier if ou increase power and in addition you get a higher IMD. My last test is with 50dB gain in High, I get 10db under the modulation inserting compresor. That is more acceptable. I hope it can be solved by SW. Thanks for answering Kind regards Antonio

I noticed that the Tx does funny things on the Lime until you use the NCO offset. So I think the DC peak does matter.

Thanks for the answer. I tried different power levels fom 20 to 60dB in High. The spike is still there with the same amplitude as the modulation peak. The funny thing is this is not happening in 435MHz with the same settings. Weird. Thanks again Kind regards Antonio G

Hi
First, thanks for this piece of software. I have been playing with it and after a wile I got it working in most of the modes.. Anyway I have been playing with the SSB modulator under windows. I have tested it in 435 MHz in the Ham band with good results. I find though the compresor and gain setups difficult to get right. I need to use the squelch and set a high value on the trigger. I tried with different USB mikes, plantronics and other. I wanted to report a possible bug. I set the TX in USB 23cm band, 1296.150 MHz. The receiver was SDRsharp with an RTL donge and other times Adalm Pluto. Transmiter was sometimes LimeSDR mini and other Adalm Pluto. In All cases, when starting the TRX I get an immediate zero beat carrier for the desired TX frequency. So basically in my opinon the carrier suppression does not work neither LSB nor USB. I tried with Pluto and I had the same issue, so it seems to be the modullator carrir suppresso which in my opinon should be at -40dB as it is in 435. Maybe it is me not getting the modulator properly configure. Any Idea on how to solve it? Thank you Antonio Ps. And not , it is not the DC spike. :-)

Re: FM and RDS data
Broadcast FM demod is one of the few plugins that are left undocumented and this does not help.
There is a button with the typical RDS logo (it is small but hopefully recognizable, it looks like a Moebius band) that will switch on the RDS decoding. Best regards, Edouard. ====================================== Thanks, Edouard. I found the logo (although I didn't recognise it) and some fields are now being decoded such as type, but not the music name (BBC Radio3, classical music). So it's a start, but still some way short of SDR#. Please understand that I am not complaining, just wanting to know what to expect. i provided the links to what i downloaded and installed.
i believe its just the latest official binary for your distro. windows, ubuntu/debian or macos. of course i downloaded and installed ubuntu amd64 flavor in my topic i listed sdrangel as 4.3.0 i do have alot of ppa's added for soapysdr, limesuite, gnuradio. etc... i dont think there is a sdrangel ppa that i am aware of.

FM and RDS data
Using an AirSpy HF+ I can get excellent FM radio reception. Using SDR# I see RDS data. Using SDR Angel I don't. Bandwidths etc. are similar. Am I missing something obvious? "Stereo" speakers are showing, and the SNR of the 19 kHz pilot is almost 40 dB.

Hi,
I am sorry but this is hardly understandable. Can you elaborate more on your context: - Where do you get the package from? A PPA (that I do not know of)? One of the releases in .deb format available in SDRangel Github repo releases? Do you compile from source? - Do you face an issue with the plugins? Missing? Not working as expected? Best regards, Edouard.

im pretty sure i have everything installed correctly as i can surf the spectrum when sdrangel is running pretty well.
what im wondering is after i select my limesdr in file source i then move down to the demodulators usually i been playing with ATV and DATV what i would like to know is are these my "Plugins" or do i need these plugins here? https://github.com/f4exb/sdrangel/releases SoapySDR support SoapySDR support for both Rx and Tx. See:
it appears i can Rx as i can browse through the spectrum just fine. thanks

I noted that with the SDRPlay Pro2 Decimation doesnt seem to show on the screen,
ie. the frequency limits don’t change as you increase decimation.
Im using the SDR to monitor the IF of my K3 @ 8.214 Mhz…so decimation
is helpful in narrowing down the displayed bandwidth, I think (? ) am I doing this correctly?

You can add RSP1a to the list of devices not to use below 2Msps [which is odd because it seems to work better below 2Msps in Gqrx].

Re: Less Soapy than expected
Yes the link was missing from the Wiki this has been corrected. Generally a readme.md file can be found in each plugin source directory. The Red Pitaya "bug" is also mentioned and is due to the way the Red Pitaya SoapySDR module has been designed. If you don't need it just do not install or remove SoapySDR support for Red Pitaya.
