How to find your or anyone's parish

Mike (G4HGV)

It was asked at a club meeting how to find the name of your Parish. Because Swindon parish boundaries and names have changed in recent times, the council have created an easy way to find the information on-line:-
Parish Lookup Subscription Form (swindon.gov.uk)
A callsign's QRZ page will often give you the postcode and perhaps even the street name and number. Interestingly many of those CN calls are in different parishes so don't just guess!

p.s. I seem to be the only amateur in Broad Blunsdon so ask me for a sked when you see or hear me.

Mike,

I have just tried it as they describe…Enter the post code, select the address from the drop down menu, our address is there, but it returns…..nothing!!

I tried it for several addresses in our road and there was no parish returned.

I see the date at the bottom of the web page is 2016, so perhaps it doesn’t have our road in there, although we have been in our house 28 years.

Shame as I was trying to find my parish earlier.

James,

Thanks, that works well, and I have identified that I’m in Haydon Wick.
