Soundcraft Signature 22MTK question.

So Gang:

How are you separating your computer speech from your main mix.

Are you plugging your headphones in to the Group outs instead of the headphone jack?

Cheers.

Hi Jim,

On Yamaha’s mg serious there is a button that does so your computer doesn’t get recorded at all, but you can still hear it through your head phones.

Then with Jaws 2021 you can lower the speech volume insert space, then v then j, and so pressing the arrow keys will de, or increase jaws volume.

Do you know what Yamaha call that button, Brian? I'm interested in
doing some research to see if I can uncover similar functionality in a
mixer with a more flexible interface.

HI sir Scott,
Let me check it out right away.
Actually I use 2 different pressable buttons, when controlling this.
One is called Stereo / mute.this one decides, if the signal send to the headphones includes all the stuff from the analog mixer, or just plays the computer signal out.
The other switches between having the mixer signal included in the recording flow or not.
Then there is a third strange one that also kind of totally disables the audio interface in some strange way I don't fully understand the meaning of. 😊
That was, what I can come up with for now.

Brian
The other is called to mon, and to st.

No, simply turn off the MST button on the channels where speech is, and turn on PFL, Prefade Listen on that same channel pair.

For example, by default, the computer comes out of Channels 11/12, so make sure the MST button is out, and the PFL button above it is in.

That applies to any channel that you want to monitor, but not record.

All the best

Hi,

Also, is it truly a multi track mixer? That is to say, does it have USB outputs for each track, or is it a straight stereo two in, two out?

All the best

Hold up Jim, there's a high potential for crossed wires here. Steve replied to when Brian and I were talking about the Yamaha MG series mixers. Based on what's quoted, I think he was asking whether they're true multi-track. The answer is no. Good mixers for sure, but only a 2 in 2 out interface component across the board.
