Re: Motorola CDM Series Programming Reverse Burst
There is a 50 year old, or older, trick used by thousands of public safety repeaters for self-keying intermod. Use a different input and output PL. I've had public safety radio techs tell me it is

That's a moto sales thing. They use 120 deg, hold up their radio and another brand radio that uses
180, and when they unkey, the moto quiets on the RB, and the other brand doesn't, so they point to

Re: Motorola CDM Series Programming Reverse Burst
It is always a good idea to look at it with 2 service monitors, one as the TX and another to watch the RX at the end. I don't know what difference it makes for tone pl 120 vs 180 degrees, but now

Re: Motorola CDM Series Programming Reverse Burst
I agree with Jim's assessment that there isn't a reason not to have it enabled.
Premium radios (Moto, Kenwood, Yaesu) work as expected. The Baofengs etc., don't typically, even if the CTCSS decoder

I have a surplus Hamtronics REP-100 on 220 if anyone needs one. I haven't had the time to check it out but it supposedly works. Let me know if you are interested and we can work out a deal. I

Re: 28-37-11E TXRX Duplexer
Jeff,
TXRX is pretty ham-friendly. If you give them a call and tell them you are moving a duplexer from commercial to Ham and need new jumpers for the new frequencies they will likely sell you

Re: Combining close-spaced UHF repeater TX
This project will be very challenging.
The UHF CB channels are spaced @ 12.5 kHz and the Tx to Rx spacing is 750 kHz
You want to combine two very close frequencies in the 476 MHz range with amateur

There aren't too many situations where you would not want it. It would only be situations where you need the TX to drop immediately, like in packet or similar. There may be issues with it on voter

Option 2.
Run 2 antennas 1tx 1rx with cans. Obviously minimum 60 ft vertical separation perfered.

Motorola CDM Series Programming Reverse Burst
I have done enough research on the reverse burst setting to understand how it works and what it is intended to do, but am still not sure whether I should check the box or not. It will likely depend

Re: Combining close-spaced UHF repeater TX
Drew,
In my experience if you have 350KHz spacing or more between transmit frequencies, you can do that with a good transmit combiner using 10"-12" pass cans and a dual port isolator. In some cases

Combining close-spaced UHF repeater TX
Hi All
My local radio club in Australia is setting up a new repeater site for both amateur VHF and UHF repeaters and two UHF CB repeaters.
CB in Australia uses the UHF band, 476.4250 and 477.4125 MHz

Re: Clegg 016 222MHz repeater
I sometimes cuss at my spell checker, but then I realise it was probably made in US of A.
Where do I go to get a good maths checker?
LOL

Re: Clegg 016 222MHz repeater
I was able to reverse engineer the receiver and the sensitivity is about .3uV. The Audio/COR has CD4016 quad switch where most of the connections terminate to the front row pins. It has a speaker

Re: Clegg 016 222MHz repeater
I really struggle with "new" math. I'm sure that some day - I'll get it. <grin>
If anyone has and docs - send then to me and I'll post them to the RB site.

Re: Clegg 016 222MHz repeater
So the JPLARC isn't the only one with ESP RXs.
Yes we have a total of 3 of their RXs: one 2M & three 220 MHz units. The 2M & one of the 220 RXs are in service at a 7500' elevation site. The

Re: 28-37-11E TXRX Duplexer
notice 3 X 78 is 234 (very close to the 230) in other words the 34" cables may be intended to be an odd multiple of a quarter wavelength. That may be significant here.
