Happy 2022 everybody!
Last year we had our first annual 'RDA champions of the year'
marathon. We had no idea what to expect from it, only hope was that it
will increase RDA activator/hunter activity on the air. Well - that
expectation was totally fulfilled cause there was clearly a lot more
going on, compared to 2020.
In 'activators' category there were two super dedicated, hard-core
activators who spent A LOT of time and gasoline to fight for the first
place. I'm super happy to announce 'RDA activator of 2021'. Ladies and
gentlemen - Oleg Poutkov RK3AW who was driving to 372 RDA's and had at
qsos with 100+ different hunters from all of them. This is totally
unbelievable number of RDA's per year.
As I said - there was a fierce competition between Oleg and Анатолий
(UB8S). Anatoly's task was somewhat harder, because driving distances
in UA9 are longer compared to UA3. Anatoly's final RDA count is 342
(30 less than RK3AW) which is also a truly fantastic result and I
believe Anatoly's driving distance was even bigger than Oleg's.
Even though we promised to produce a plaque only for winners, we
decided that Anatoly's commitment must be awarded with a nice plaque
as well, so we'll be producing activator plaques for both, first and
second place this year.
In hunters category - 2021 winner was Vasily, RA9AJ. Can you believe
it - he worked a staggering 2421 different RDA's last year! Honestly -
I NEVER anticipated that kind of number. This is a phenomenal
achievement and only God knows how many hours Vasily spent on the air
every day
We had to decide what to do in 2022. After hearing and analyzing
different feedback from various sources, we decided to repeat the 'RDA
marathon' in 2022. This year we'll create a separate category for
hunters - 'Foreign (non Russian) hunter'.
I guess many of you are thinking 'why not a plaque for top-3 of each
category?'. Answer is simple - I'm currently funding this out from my
own pocket and I need to draw a line somewhere.
So - we'll produce and ship good looking plaques for 2021 to RK3AW,
UB8S, RA9AJ soon.
Again - I hope you all will have a good 2022 and we hope to see in

In 2022 we are probably changing 'activator' rules so that instead counting RDA's with 100+ hunters, every hunter from each RDA will give 1..10 points depending on RDA rating. This should give better chance to activator who will work "many hunters from rare RDA".

Unfortunately I dont have design skills to produce nice PDF background. I'm

As soon as we find somebody who can help us with this - sure, you will be
able to download your award. But I cant make any promises regarding when it
might happen.
Until then - only physical plaque.

Hey, everybody,
thank you all for a great experience in 2021.
The RDA hunt was really VERY FUN.
I'm so glad you created a category for (non-Ruda) hunters.
I put in a lot of work in the month of 12/2021 and went from
11th place to 8th place.
Which I consider a great result.
I really appreciate the work of active hunters.
Both of them (RK3AW and UB8S) did a great job.
But in case of Oleg you can see PROFESSIONAL APPROACH and
PERFORMANCE.
2x more QSOs than UB8S.
Oleg has a great choice of bands, so both EU and DX stations
could work.
Big thanks to all who are working on RDA project.
Enjoy and looking forward to 2022.

Last year we had our first annual 'RDA champions of the year' marathon. We had no idea what to expect from it, only hope was that it will increase RDA activator/hunter activity on the air. Well - that expectation was totally fulfilled cause there was clearly a lot more going on, compared to 2020.
In 'activators' category there were two super dedicated, hard-core activators who spent A LOT of time and gasoline to fight for the first place. I'm super happy to announce 'RDA activator of 2021'. Ladies and gentlemen - Oleg Poutkov RK3AW who was driving to 372 RDA's and had at qsos with 100+ different hunters from all of them. This is totally unbelievable number of RDA's per year. As I said - there was a fierce competition between Oleg and Анатолий (UB8S). Anatoly's task was somewhat harder, because driving distances in UA9 are longer compared to UA3. Anatoly's final RDA count is 342 (30 less than RK3AW) which is also a truly fantastic result and I believe Anatoly's driving distance was even bigger than Oleg's.
Even though we promised to produce a plaque only for winners, we decided that Anatoly's commitment must be awarded with a nice plaque as well, so we'll be producing activator plaques for both, first and second place this year.
In hunters category - 2021 winner was Vasily, RA9AJ. Can you believe it - he worked a staggering 2421 different RDA's last year! Honestly - I NEVER anticipated that kind of number. This is a phenomenal achievement and only God knows how many hours Vasily spent on the air every day We had to decide what to do in 2022. After hearing and analyzing different feedback from various sources, we decided to repeat the 'RDA marathon' in 2022. This year we'll create a separate category for hunters - 'Foreign (non Russian) hunter'.
I guess many of you are thinking 'why not a plaque for top-3 of each category?'. Answer is simple - I'm currently funding this out from my own pocket and I need to draw a line somewhere. So - we'll produce and ship good looking plaques for 2021 to RK3AW, UB8S, RA9AJ soon. Again - I hope you all will have a good 2022 and we hope to see in "RDA marathon 2022"
