Old maps show a spur and station for the village of Hubbard on the north side of the tracks near where Maass road ends on the south. I don't know if there was anything there as late as 1967.

Well, it's back to Hartford with serious problems.
Looks like the Toys for Tots run will be with a Diesel and the Germantown run for next week will be cancelled.

Word from the Wisconsin & Southern Facebook group and the WisSOR list is that all trips are now cancelled until a hotbox problem can be repaired. :(

261 Friends Excursion Trip

DupyRail

DATES:
November 16 – 18, 2012
TIME:
Depart Amtrak MSP Station on November 16 at 7:50 am*
(map)
Arrive at Chicago Union Station on November 16 at 3:55 pm*
Depart Chicago Union Station on November 18 at 2:15 pm*
Return to Amtrak MSP Station on November 18 at 10:31 pm*

By popular request, the Friends of the 261 is planning an excursion to Chicago, the weekend of Nov 16-18. To make this trip a success we need to have at least 40 tickets sold. If you or anyone you may know would like to experience an unforgettable journey call us at 651-765-9812 and request your tickets by Wed Nov 7th. Once we have 40 or more request, we will call you back and request payment for your ticket(s).

The Friends of the 261 is offering another chance to ride vintage passenger cars from the Twin Cities to Milwaukee and Chicago this November. Our fully restored cars offer a memorable journey you’ll cherish for years to come! Meticulously refurbished, these cars recall the era when traveling was half the fun of a vacation.

Ride the rails in style between Minneapolis and Chicago in an all-matched train painted in the orange and maroon colors of Milwaukee Road passenger trains of the 1950s. This trip will feature our premier rolling stock.

As with all of our premier excursions, these cars will travel behind Amtrak’s Empire Builder, leaving Minneapolis early morning on Friday, November 16 and returning on Sunday afternoon, November 18.

While riding the rails, enjoy freshly-prepared meals and libations knowing that you are supporting the restoration of our Milwaukee Road Steam Locomotive 261.

These trips will have limited seating, all in premium class. With the recent reduction in air fares between the Twin Cities and Chicago, you may wish to fly one way and take the train the other. Passengers are responsible for making their own hotel reservations in Chicago or Milwaukee if needed.

Hello Groups,

Sorry for my adsence latley, but I have been working 6 days a week. No time
for much fun.I was informed tonight that the plan is for a pick up at the
Byron Nuclear plant during the day. I will try to narrow the time, but it
sounds like a day pickup and that makes sense. This pickup will be a 12
axle car (KRL 127003) carrying the main generator rotor which is the single
heaviest piece of equipment we have. When and IF I can get a better time, I
will post.

Good luck, I will be in Joliet for Fire Brigade training on Friday.
