Inchterf

Can any further information regarding this site, and equipment i.e. gun sledges; be provided?

This photograph on this blog  is what little I have seen. ( http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/113246-the-ruston-88ds-class-a-rivet-counters-guide/ )

Inchterf was developed by William Beardmore Co.  in the 1930s ( or earlier? ) for testing of guns and propellent charges up to 12” calibre.

Inchterf was acquired by government in 1938 for the special purpose of propellant proof and the matching of propellants manufactured for the Army and Navy, later becoming a P&EE.
The site was rail connected.
