I just completed a build of the CS-101 board with on-board BME sensor and plugged in a cheap RTL-SDR on USB for remote.
The SDR picked up my 433 mhz signal from a Tycon weather station more than 50ft away.
Not all data was decoded from the Tycon but it did seem to work well.
With the added internal weather data from the BME it gives a good start.
