no, just looking for a time when there might be a lot of people on. East coast was good to me between 0300 and 0400 UTC yesterday so thought I might give that a shot. But I'm not totally stuck with that time slot!

Terry,

It appears that all of the files and photos are already gone.  I can't seen any of those on the 5 Yahoo groups that I own.  Sad!  :-(

The entire message history is going away. All that will remain is
forwarding of current messages. Plus all the files are going away. There
won't be enough left to be useful.

It's not really a surprise. Yahoo aka Oath aka Verizon has been neglecting
Groups for years.

Re: OT: Yahoo Groups is going away

Mike,  look at the top of any yahoo groups page. It says it there:

*Attention:* Starting December 14, 2019 Yahoo Groups will no longer host user created content on its sites. New content can no longer be uploaded after October 28, 2019. Learn More <https://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&y=PROD_GRPS&locale=en_US&id=SLN31010&actp=email>

In short,  any files and photos on any yahoo group will go away as of December 14 so if there is any content you want or need from any of your yahoo groups you had better get it now.  It also sounds like email history will go away in December but was not sure about that one.

Jim Pruitt
And this was posted to a owners/moderators groups.io group for which I am a member concerning the yahoo announcement:

Understand what's changing in Yahoo Groups

Yahoo has made the decision to no longer allow users to upload content to the Yahoo Groups site. Beginning October 21, you won't be able to upload any more content to the site, and as of December 14 all previously posted content on the site will be permanently removed. You'll have until that date to save anything you've uploaded.

What features will go away?
<https://help.yahoo.com/kb/groups/SLN31010.html?impressions=true#cont1>

* Files
* Polls
* Links
* Photos
* Folders
* Calendar
* Database
* Attachments
* Conversations
* Email Updates
* Message Digest
* Message History

What will happen to the site?
<https://help.yahoo.com/kb/groups/SLN31010.html?impressions=true#cont1>

The Yahoo Groups site will continue to exist, however, all public groups will be made private or restricted. Any new group members will need to request an invite or be invited by an admin. Admins will still be able to manage various group settings, though some functionality will be limited.

What will happen on October 21st?
<https://help.yahoo.com/kb/groups/SLN31010.html?impressions=true#cont1>

On October 21st, you will no longer be able to upload any content to the site. To share info with members of your groups, you'll continue to be able to do so via email.

How can I keep my Yahoo Groups content?
<https://help.yahoo.com/kb/groups/SLN31010.html?impressions=true#cont1>

Photos and files can be saved <https://help.yahoo.com/kb/groups/photos-files-saved-sln2526.html> right from the Yahoo Groups site, or you can download your data from the Privacy Dashboard <https://help.yahoo.com/kb/groups/download-data-privacy-dashboard-sln28671.html>.

Will I be able to use Yahoo Groups going forward?
<https://help.yahoo.com/kb/groups/SLN31010.html?impressions=true#cont1>

You'll still be able to communicate with your groups via email and search for private groups on the site. In addition, admins will continue to have limited access to group settings and administration tools.

Fantastic job Ken. I think your design is more practical than a printed one and also provides shielding.

Hi all,

I have designed and built a pcb fabricated case for the the NanoVNA. It's on the qrpguys.com site under "misc" files. or at <https://qrpguys.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/nanovna_chassis_fab_101419.pdf> until the name changes...:)

Looking for something more durable and easier to heatsink. I never cared
for heatsinking TO-92 devices (not effective in cooling the die) and three
in parallel was never a favorite technique for me. This smells of value
engineering. I'd rather pay another couple of $$ on the kit and do it more
robust fashion than it is now.

Re: QRPGuys DSB Digital Transceiver

Why?

Unlikely to give more power as its gain is lower than BS170s,
If anything less power as you only can get so much from the
2n3904. It would be easier to heatsink and likely more durable.

The layout and mechanics of that mod might be a pain as well.

I was wondering about the use of an IRF-510 to replace the three BS170's.
Other rigs use this device successfully. What do you think?

I ordered the kit today.

Good morning all,

I was thinking of buying one of these little devices and I had the same
questions in my mind about the DSB mode of operation.

The other thing I was questioning is the design of the final output stage.
I know it's been a tradition in ham radio to either parallel tubes or
transistors to get the wattage rating that you need, but in this case there
should be a single mosfet that can do the job is economically as three? In
addition I like to heatsink the output devices and this really doesn't lend
itself to effective heat sinking. Other than some gimmick add-ons for
TO-92's, were never really designed to be heat sinked. (I know that some
TO-92 devices produced with a small heatsink tab, but that's not what we
have here from the kit pictures.)

Does anyone out there have a suggestion for a sutible single output device
in a TO-220 form factor or similar?

Thank you,
Randy ab9go
