Orchid Space

Michael Jacob

FYI

Hello All
I live in Turnersville. I’m a hybridizer and I’m looking for some greenhouse space to rent or trade orchid services for. At the moment I have Paphiopedilum seedlings I need space for. I might be able to keep them on a 5 shelf metal stand (48”x18”x72”). If anyone has or knows someone who might have some space please let me know.
Thanks,
Fred Allen

April POS Meeting

Marie Hageman

I regret to inform everyone that I have to cancel the April POS Meeting.

In light of all the Virus-related-goings-on, Cadbury has instituted these restrictions – "No visitors including vendors, etc., at all. There should not be any meetings here until further notice."

This may put our Annual May Auction in jeopardy, as well.

I will pass along any information as soon as I get it.

Hopefully, we can rebook Bayard for a later date, and everyone stays well.
Marie

Sorry I won’t be able to make the dinner or meeting as I’m still recovering from back surgery that I’ve been dealing with. Enjoy the speaker and delicious dinner. Jeanne

So, we are going to try something new. (I can’t take credit for this idea. I learned of it when I spoke at Phila. Mensa Society. It works very well for them, for several reasons, so let’s see how it works for POS.) It's a good way to learn more from, and get to know the speaker better.

We are inviting all members to join our speaker for a Dutch-treat dinner prior to the meeting. We have found that, for our Holiday Party, the Ruby Buffet works for many reasons. Not the least of which is, it’s close, and rush-hour Cherry Hill traffic is a nightmare.

Also, the wide variety of offerings (approx. 100) guarantees all dietary-restrictions and preferences are accommodated. (Chinese, American, Italian, and Japanese food, and seafood, as well as sushi, vegetarian food, fruits, deserts and ice creams are all available.)

Finally, service is fast and it’s reasonably-priced. No doubt, the reasons for the positive feedback from our members on this choice.

We should meet at 5, in the lobby, to have ample time for an unrushed meal, since we need to arrive at Cadbury by 6:30, in time to set up our plants on the show table.

Please RSVP to my email address, so I can make the reservation.  mdhageman1@...

Please bring cash to cover your own meal, tax, and tip, (approx. $21.00).

The monthly meeting of the Pinelands Orchid Society will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd, at Cadbury at Cherry Hill, (Oak Room), 2150 Route 38. 7:00 PM

Our presenter will be Kim Feddersen with, Cymbidiums: an overview of the more important species, hybrid types and cultural requirements.

Note: Richard E. Barmore, Treasurer of the Native Orchid Conference, Inc., sent us an acknowledgement of the donation made by Robert E. Sprague, in lieu of his speaker’s fee:

“On behalf of the Board of the Native Orchid Conference, Inc., we would like to extend our warm thank you to the Pinelands Orchid Society for the generous gift of $100.00 (on behalf of Robert E. Sprague) in January 2020 for the Fred Case Grant Program established by the Native Orchid Conference, Inc.

No. It's as always. Just pay at the door when you enter.

Some of our members are also Longwood members so that wouldn't be fair to them, even if any club could afford to pay the $25.00 ticket for a member who paid $12.50 to join.
