I will be interested in this, too.  If Eagle cannot be used for this purpose, perhaps Fusion3D can, even though it is only 2D?  I intend to explore that and will report any success.

I am very familiar with Eagle going clear back to 4.09..I want to use Eagle to make design in .sch for plexiglass cutting and then somehow make Gcode from that..Should I use symbol for the lines/circles, or should i use signals and then do it all in .brd ??????
maybe pcbgcode is not the right thing to use for plexiglass etching..?? can anyone give me some direction please..thanks for any help..

Re: cutting plexiglass #mill

If you draw tracks, pcb-gcode will generate gcode to outline those tracks.
If you draw lines on the Milling layer, pcb-gcode will generate gcode to cut down the center of those lines.
So the way you want your artwork to appear would determine which layer you draw on.
Whether pcbgcode is the right tool for the job is another question :-)

Hi All, Getting better at my board cutting and soon will make my first board. I have a question I was wondering is there a way I can start up my gcode at a place further into the code ? I have found that I need to add a M0 command to get my drills into the  too holder. M06 command is not recognized for the tool change so I was going to just add a tool change location command then pause put the bit in the go back to the drill commands and continue. I have a pretty good board cut but with no holes. I have to reset my x0.0 y0.0 since I had to leave the shop. I would like to be able to skip the cutting and go to the line that starts my drilling. Just starting out there are many questions most of which I was able to find the answer. Thanks for your time, Len

Vaughn, If the pcbgcode thinks you have choosen a style previously then it bypasses the style choice screen and continues to the rest of the setup program. I think you must back out of that part of the setup as though you are doing a new install. This would allow you your choice again. Hope this helps, Len

Hi Vaughn,  I am also new at this. I have been able to get an example to my cnc and able to level and cut. When you are
in the set up for the first time you will be asked what style you are dealing with which I think the program is trying to find the
best controller type that you have. I have bought a cheap China cnc to experiment with so I chose the "Tries to be very compatible choice" in the list and it then allows me to get into the setup settings. I believe you need to go to an example drawing and get it opened up first then go to the file, go down to run ULP.  When you select pcb-gcode-setup you will either have the screen choice of  style or it will just go straight to the rest of the setup. If you see no choices then you may need to go to gcode-defaults.h where you have to clear reset the to a new installation variable?? Haven't had to do this but see if this helps. Let me know if I can help you more to find this variable. Once you reset it to a new installation you will be given the choice again of the style. Maybe a more advanced user could help some also. Always find I need help with programing questions so the forums are great for assistance. Hope I have helped you. Let me know if you need me to look help more.

missing profiles #pcbgcode

Vaughn

Hi, new to the group and pcbgcode.

Been trying out this eagle for a time and not had much luck getting the files I need to make my cnc make a board.

downloaded the pcb-gcode and placed this in the correct folder:

D:\My Documents\Documents\eagle\external_usr-lang-prog\pcbgcode

looks like this:

when I try to run the pcb-gcode-setup action it asks I choose a style, as this is my first time using. Trouble is I have no styles listed to choose.

I have added the paths to the directories, I even added the same path to ALL directories, each in turn, to make sure I was not using the wrong one., Still no styles found. In the folders above, in the profiles one, I have some 5 styles to choose from but they never come up in the correct window so I can choose them.

I am using the eagle 9.1.1 version

Any help please Vaughn

Worked perfectly, thank you much! I opened everything but that because I didn't have a way to open it haha. Changed the extension to .txt, edited the code, then renamed the file xxx.ulp and it worked correctly for reference.

Hi,

edit pcb-gcode-setup.ulp and delete lines 503-505 containing the code

"<a href=http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pcb-gcode>"

"<img src='docs/images/pcbgcode-600.gif' width='300'/>"

"</a>"

save and run again.
for me worked well....
hope can help you.

Hey there, I'm a complete newbie. Would you mind referencing the main file name, please? Thanks a bunch.

I had the same problem. Open the main file for the plugin and remove the 2 lines that reference the broken image.

Maximize the window and the GUI will automatically fit everything on the screen. That worked for me.

Best,

Thanks for fixing that Art!

If you all find a file that is bad, just post a message and let us know. If you flag it as objectionable, that has a different meaning.
