Newton Longville Cubs, see below.
I can make all 3 of their choices so need 2 more helpers. They came last year so are fami;iar with the routine.

I suggest Wed 4 March as there is a half Moon which will give us a target if the seeing is poor. Venus and Orion are well placed too.

We can discuss on Tuesday but in the meantime if anyone cane definitely help then please elt me know.

Hi,
Happy New Year!
I am hoping that you might be able to help - I am a leader with Newton Longville Cub Group. We are looking at doing the astronomy badge this term and wondered whether we would be able to book a visit to the Observatory there?

We meet on a Wednesday evening, between 6.45 and 8.15 - but can be flexible to accommodate you.

Would this be possible at all?

Thank you in advance,

Kind regards

Victoria

Astronomy calendar for 2020

Sheridan Williams

I work closely with John Flannery of Aurorawatcher in Ireland and he has once again produce a superb astronomy calendar.

You can download it from our website; http://www.shindles.co.uk/ouastro/AstronomyCalendar2020.pdf

It's great printed in A3 format. If you haven't got an A3 printer, I believe that Staples can print it from a memory stick.

Best wishes

Great Linford Cubs

When:
Monday, 9 December 2019
7:00pm to 8:30pm
(UTC+00:00) Europe/London

Where:
Great Linford Primary School

Organizer: Colin Chanbers colin.chambers@...

Description:

Their tasks are:
2.   Explain the difference between a planet and a star.
6.   Find out about two space-related subjects and present some information about them. You could find out about planets, the history of space exploration or space technology.

I expect point 1 is straight forward for you guys and Point 6 is where things get interesting. It’s really an opportunity to talk about two things you love about space and explain it to the kids. The photos I’ve seen at your meetings would work well as they love something they can see and it would inspire them to go look in the sky themselves

Volunteer for Cubs astronomy session on 9th Dec

Sheridan Williams

I will discuss this tonight but I have agreed to go provided I can get another person to help.

Their needs are simply and mentioned below.

Not sure why they are numbered points 2 and 6, 2 is simple but I think we should go prepared for 6 with some great images. I'll check if they have a projector and screen.

We need to be there between 7 and 8:30pm.

Sheridan,
We just have the following two items to cover for the cubs to get their badge. We don’t need anything complex.

I hope this makes this clearer and more interesting. Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks

Colin
