Those thingies on the sides of the cockpit are "coamings", the thingies under the fabric they fasten to are "carlins". Did you ever think about using the iron to shrink the fabric? Sometime, when we can once again get together inside, I'll show you Platt Monfort's video on building his Geodesic Airolite boats. He's got some ideas that would be useful for Gentry style boats too.
