Fern Ridge Spring Messabout May 20-22nd

Just got back from the member appreciation and renewal party at the Triton Yacht Club. As you might imagine from the time on this message it was a Good one. It's sure nice to get out and do some socializing again! :o) Mostly outside around a gas campfire.

It turns out that TYC has scheduled a "dinghy dash" race for the Saturday we'll be having the picnic at Shorelane Park. I told them that we'd give the racers a cake if they made the finish line Shorelane. <g> TYCers aren't much different from Coots, so a convergence of the two groups will be fun, if we can pull it off. More details as they become available.

I made my reservation for camp site 21 and slip E5 for Saturday night.   One thing I could not determine is if I need a separate parking permit for Saturday and Sunday?  Is there a fee to use the boat ramp?

When I got my slip last year I didn't need a parking permit and there wasn't a ramp fee. My camp site is 19.

Now we know where our BS campfire will be, right?

You bringing Fish Taco or the new one you just bought which needs water trials?

If you're gonna park your rig near the boat ramp, even just for a little while, you'll need a parking pass. They'll give you one at the campground office when you check in, if you ask, or you can get one from Shelly at the trailer by the docks. No extra cost if you have a campsite, and no extra cost to use the ramp. Don't skip the parking pass! The fine for parking without one is about $145!! The County Parks are hungry for money and there's pressure on the parking monitors to produce. I met a nice one last year, but there was a not-so-nice one, I heard, and the Park Rangers and Sheriff's Deputies occasionally check after hours.

Looks like the Triton Yacht Club's Derring-Do Dinghy Dash will indeed be finishing at Shorelane Park while the Coots are there. :o) Should be fun, but somebody needs to bake a cake for them. <g>
