Fer reals this time
Andrew Linn
I was standing in front of my new-to-me O'Day Daysailer II thinking about when I was going to put it in the water, and I realized I am not. I just don't have the interest any more. Not even a glimmer.
That said, my loss is someone else's gain. the following is for sale: O'Day Daysailer, excellent shape, outstanding galvanized trailer, 2 bags of sails, ready to drop in the water and sail away. Coot price: $1300. Listing on Craigslist next wqeek for $2200 2HP Honda 4-stroke long shaft Coot price $600, Craigslist $900 Other stuff I will be listing later. Fiddy bits and whatnot. |

Here's an article about Daysailers, Elaine. One of Uffa Fox's last designs. They're planing boats that are fast by Coot standards, but considered boring by the go-fast crowd. <g> I've never sailed one, but I don't think they're very scary, since I've seen inexperienced sailors, and families, sailing them. I've never even sat in one, so I can't say how comfortable they are. The photos in the article seem to show ample legroom, but lowish seats and low coamings. It's bound to be more comfortable than Larimar! <g>

Are they bulk packed? Singles? Can you fit them in the glove box of a Kia, or does one need to rent a Uhaul? Show us your bits Andy! CSe Sent from not here On Jun 20, 2021, at 7:45 PM, elaineginader <elaineginader@...> wrote:

Pictures? Pictures! I don't even have any pictures. I'll get pictures, but in the meantime: The boat looks just like an ODay Daysailer II and the motor looks just like a Honda 2h longshaft.

Does it have a mast hinge or do you have to step it? Thanks, Elaine On Sun, Jun 20, 2021, 10:42 PM Andrew Linn <alinn@...> wrote: Buncha Duckworks blocks and assorted cleats, etc. It'll be sold as a |

Good question, Elaine. If Andy's Daysailer II has the hinged mast there are ways to make raising the mast pretty easy.

Say Andrew, did you move the Daysailor? Family had one 30-odd years ago, we knocked about the lakes in the Sierras, and I'm tempted to look for another one ...
