Coot Cabin for sale
Love it. If I had just won a lottery jackpot, I'd buy property on the river - maybe Cathlamet or Knappa/Brownsmead area - and park her at the dock for one of our kids.

Wooden power skiff
Looks like one of the Jeff Spira designs. A smaller v-bottom dory. Too small for that center console, in my opinion, but yes it looks to be in good shape. If it comes with the Honda30... it's a bargai

Columbia River Museum Field Trip is ON! March 17th.
Same with this David. I've been fighting off a head cold the babies brought over... and it doesn't look like I'll be well enough to inflict myself on a group of Coots. Hope everyone has a grand time!!

Good Book
I agree... way too much good stuff to let the little stuff detract. Interesting signs of the the times & the culture, though. Haven't finished it yet, but read the bit last night about taking the kids

Good Book
I'm just rereading it also. About halfway thru. I had forgotten how good it is. About the time I cracked it, John W, said he was revisiting it also. Looking forward to hearing his thoughts also. Maybe

Linseed oil drying
And it's a very good point. I've shed tears as friends shops burned down because someone left oily rags wadded up in a corner somewhere. Some dump them into pails of water, so oxygen can't get to them

The Wonders of Raw Linseed Oil

Genuine Pine Tar/ Akta Tratjara
And, neither raw nor any variety of 'boiled' actually hardens. At best it gets 'more solid'... sort of a gummy texture when exhumed. No matter HOW long one waits. AFIK, there's only one supplier these

I use very little pine tar, but also get mine from American Rope & Tar (John K's link). Not a big fan of boat soup because it never totally polymerizes, and will leach back out on a hot day - leading

Boat for sale !
Brian's boat, iirc, has sitting headroom. But getting in and out required crouching, or hands&knees as I recall. Nicely set up inside for cruising and dockside life. Ergonomics very good. Craftsmanshi

Sure -- Between Molalla & Colton. On Dhoogie Rd. South of Hwy. 211. At the top of the hill, just South (uphill) of Graves Quarry.
