Re: Selway Fisher Skylark 6'
My advice for a first time builder is to follow the plans. If you reinvent the wheel you may find issues you didn’t know about as it’s your first time. If you do it and do your own sails

Selway Fisher Skylark 6'
At the Port Townsend show, I was all primed and ready to pick up a Portage Pram kit for my first boat build but... they sold out!
So, I'm thinking I might go instead for the Skylark 6' [0]. It's 10"

I”d suggest you might find it cheaper to have one built locally’ish. When I had a Dovekie, I had a removable motor mount for the 2 hp Honda motor to my cobbled together design and it worked

Has anyone seen a motor mount like this?
It's a fixed non-lifting mount, light capacity, and has a quick release plate. The GP14 has the transom plate, so and I am looking for the rest. Alternatively I'll remove the transom plate and use

Re: Bolger Boating
I only got photos of the Idaho (I never got the name, or don't remember it...) in motion when it was coming into the beach, not at speed. Then a bunch of pictures _from it_ <g> of boats anchored out

Good Luck !!, it looks like I'll need that. and more. Power has been out for a couple days effectively, so I have installed the RF blocking tape while I was idle. Most everything on the transducer

Bolger Boating
Attendance at the Coot lunch today was sparse, but one fellow was a Bolgerian from way back -- Wayne. One of the boats he'd owned was the original Idaho, built by Bernie Wolfard. Think Cal's surprise

Re: Cathlamet fall messabout
Hi Myles,
I'm glad to hear this. I'm not sure I would want to attempt a solo trip, but would rather have experienced companions for the first time.
That would be fine with me. Being retired means

Hi - Cal, John's assessment is that it is most likely a conducted noise problem, not a radiated noise problem. This seems very likely. If that is the case, the tape only complicates the issue,

I'm no electrical expert like Bob and John, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to ground the shielding tape for it to have a chance of working.
Is th old depth sounder a Humminbird like I"ve got in Lazy

Mark,
I’m not sure I don’t watch a lot of TV, and when I do it’s streaming with no ads. It was a product that was on Kickstarter a few years back and I almost purchased it then but wanted to see

Hi Case,
Is this the same one that they were advertising on TV earlier in the summer? Sure sounds/looks like it.

Fans and air circulation
When I was out with Mark on his boat during the wooden boat show we talked a bit about the lack of air movement on his cabin. I’m my camp trailer I have a small 3” diameter 12v fan that works

I went outside for lunch today and there is a strong dry east wind blowing with just a hint of smoke. Per the NWCC fire map, https://gacc.nifc.gov/nwcc/information/firemap.aspx, there are no files
