Just found the Zinc for this trailer project , and Another boat note
I wouldn't even try to beat $ 8.00 for a good size piece with mounting tabs. Ready to go, the right formula, and this is a standard item so it's easy to use ss screws matching the tabs provided. A

Re: varnish vs epoxy on the floor of a wood dingy?
Hi Jove,
you might look into something like Owatrol Deks Olje, I have used it on a number of boat soles, etc. and been very pleased, not slippery and easy to keep up.
cheers

Hey folks,
I bought an Enterprise this spring, a small, classic plywood racing dinghy,
the varnish in the floor is crazed and splitting but the wood is good, I'm scraping and sanding it back so new

Re: Summer Reading List
You had me with the "development of the Diesel Engine". Both of those books are available from LINCC so I put them on hold.

Coot-style boating in Sierra Leone (was: Chesapeake Bay Flattie in Charleston)

Re: Toledo Wooden Boat Show August 19-21st
For those that have not been to Toledo WB Show, the port has quite a bit of information at their web site. Also, this is not about fancy boats with lots of varnish. It is for the rest of us! It

Chesapeake Bay Flattie in Charleston
I added some shots of Ted Chism's Hampton flattie hauled out at the Charleston shipyard. We visited him years ago when he was putting the bottom on:

I've been reading too much news. :o( My boating literature fix has been been coming mostly from the boat magazines -- Small Craft Advisor (every Coot should read it, especially since MAIB is gone),

Re: Project Sailboat
I don't know a thing about the sailboat. It's such a shapely boat it may have been designed by known designer, and built by a skilled yard. A call to the Port of Coos Bay might elicit more
