Hi Andrew -
Interesting point about combustion temp differences and impact on the engine...in a decade of discussions about Honda Ultra quiet Gen sets for electric boats I've not seen anyone raise

Knocking about an idea
Tom Luque was my captain for the trip to BC and back. His boat, a 19' WW Potter, is very nice, and he has 750W Honda generator, with which he charged the 12V batteries that ran the lights, radio, ice

I plan on inviting a friend, but I haven't yet. I'll let you know how that goes.
I'm going to bring three old sails from Oceanus. They don't serve for the boat anymore, but I thought some coot might

BC Maritime Museum
It'll sure be sad if They don't figure out a way to keep the museum in Victoria alive. <sigh> I sure enjoyed my visit a couple of decades

That pic shows it pretty well, We were sailing along, happy as clams, and the tide started to turn, so we angled to make for shore and maybe avoid some of the thrust. Then the wind died and you can

If you didn't follow Team Mastgate's Spot track, here's an image of Andrew and Tom's route across the Strait. The flood tide and west wind gave them a detour onto the scenic route.

Victoria BC is worth it. What a place! There is another team from Oregon here, Team Forest Grove in a Montgomery 15. Steve and Tom. They made the harbor before the tide change.
