Listening to Corbitt's Barkentine brought to mind this rousing song from the same album:
It was written by a crewman in the schooner Effie Morrissey about an actual, record breaking, voyage. He changed the name of the ship because they had prohibition in Maine at the time, the 'teens. <g> The schooner survives, and is the state ship of Massachusetts.
