Tension Issues

Ceil J

My dealer told me that frequently tension issues are caused (as Jim pointed out) by a speck of lint or dust that gets caught in the bobbin case. What happens is that lint becomes caught there and interferes with the bobbin tension. He showed me how to use a fine pin to flick it out. You want to be careful not to scratch the bobbin case with the pin of course but if you look at the photo, you should see that the pin is inserted between the metal pieces. You then move it to the left to get the lint out of it. You should feel the metal move slightly if you have the pin in the correct spot.  I hope the photo doesn't come out in this post as large as it appears on my screen.

Sorry about that giant photo.  This one will hopefully be better.
