Hard Disk Data Recovery Success!
Anne Parker
Well the good news is I now have all my years of data back after Currys here in UK managed to recover it all for me! I originally took my broken Hard Disk in to Currys in Haverfordwest on 29th Nov and paid £90 for their standard recovery service - plus also £45 for a new hard disk to copy the data to - so they could send it all to their repair centre in Newark. I had nothing to lose as if they couldn't recover the data I would get my £90 back and a refund for the new hard disk I had bought. I received a message to phone the repair centre at Newark on the 4th of December. Sadly they couldn't recover the data, but they then offered me the advanced data recovery (which I was aware of) at a cost of £350. I told them to go ahead, and paid the pennies. I received a message yesterday that the recovered data was at my local store ready for collection. Collected it today, after getting a £90 refund of the failed standard recovery. Checked out the new disk, and as far as I can see all the data is there. There are some odd folders on the new disk but obviously they were needed for the actual recovery! I am a really happy bunny - even though I had to pay £350 for it - better than losing all those years of digitising! My husband is going to pick up another portable hard disk on Tuesday, so then I can do a weekly backup of all my data from one disk to the other, plus a backup of my sewing files to a USB stick! Lesson learnt! This is great to hear Anne. I am glad it has worked out for you and gave us all a reminder about the importance of multiple back ups for our computers.
