I was working on combining some Edge-2-Edge quilting designs the other day and noticed that AcuEdit offers a Save option next to the Send command. Does anyone know “where” it actually saves the design and how do you later retrieve it?

It will take the original design and save it as a new version. So it will be saved wherever the original design was stored.

Apps on iPhones / iPads use some local storage for their documents which - by default - cannot be easily accessed by the user. Developers can expose this storage to Apple's "Files" app or move it into iCloud, and "Send to" / "Open in" options can pass documents to other apps. But it looks like AcuEdit isn't offering any of these capabilities, and sending to an embroidery machine is its only export option. I had shared the starter design with AcuEdit from a folder my Files. However, there are no new designs in that folder.
It isn’t a huge issue because I saved it after sending it to my 15000. I just wondered how it worked.

Thanks Mattes,
That is the same version I am running, but when I click the little box with arrow (aka what to do with the design), I get both a Send and Save option. I blinks when I hit save and says it has been saved, but not where. I did not find it saved to my machine or my Files.

Hey Pixey,
The saved design shows up in AcuEdit when entering its „Documents“ location using the Flower icon in the lower left corner when editing a design. This way it can be added to an existing or new design. Actually I found no way to edit the existing file … but I have to admit that I‘m struggling with the app‘s handling anyway.

I've always wondered the same thing, even though I've rarely used AcuEdit. I guess it's in that mysterious place that uses up the storage space deep inside on the IPad! If anyone does know the actual process to find it, it would be nice to have that information! Re the version being 3.21.001, that is the last updated version. Being that the 15000 machine is sadly retired, I'm pretty certain that there will never be any more updates to it. ~Favymtz

Mattes had it right in his last email. Click on the flower in the lower left corner. Then from the choices on the bottom of the screen, select Documents. And there they are, grouped by hoop size.
Tap on the design and choose Done to bring it up to use in AcuEdit. You can use the Select command on the top right to delete it.

I have iPad Air 2 and the acudesign app opens but freezes when I try to look at the user windows. I haven’t used it much, I bought it before I had the 15, and used it with Dropbox to access from my laptop/computer ten to USB. But now it freezes. Thankfully
I have other software so I’m not too worried, but I assume it doesn’t work on the latest iPad update which is 15.7.3.

The machine needs to be switched on, and Internet enabled and on the same IP address, you don’t necessarily need to be sat next to it, it depends on how good and busy your wifi is. I know with mine, no other device can be on the internet and then it’s hit
and miss. It might have improved since we installed and extender for the wifi.

Pixey and I were referring to the „Documents“ selection on the left, not the „Design“ one you’re mentioning. If necessary you can dismiss the machine selection and just tap on the left-item in the bottom toolbar … not very intuitive, but it works. Mattes

Yes wifi, it doesn’t have Bluetooth and you can’t attach a cable to transfer. So to get the design to and from the machine you need wifi to work with acudesign, acuedit, screensaver etc.

The wifi settings are in your machine it’s under the embroidery (red machine) in the spanner at the bottom of the screen, you just press on let it find the router and then put the password in.

~Favymtz Thanks Mattes,
That is the same version I am running, but when I click the little box with arrow (aka what to do with the design), I get both a Send and Save option. I blinks when I hit save and says it has been saved, but not where. I did not find it saved to my machine or my Files.

Disclaimer: I'm not sure if my AcuEdit version is the most recent one (3.21.001)... Mattes

Not sure if it’s what you mean, but if you search ‘files’ on the iPad, open the files app, you can then see a couple of places on the top left where your files might be, one is iCloud Drive, the other is called ‘On my iPad’ if you have Dropbox that will be
there too.
