Ask your dealer for HL on a USB or buy an external CD drive, not very expensive but very useful.

I’m not sure if HL will work on windows 11.

I can confirm that HLS works with Windows 11. I reluctantly switched to 11 after switching back once but there are two things that I don't care for, others I have gotten used to doing. One is that the bottom taskbar cannot be moved although the icons can be moved from center to left. The second thing is that when I select something to delete, it's no longer an obvious choice and I have to click again to find the delete option. Annoying as that was once so easy. I haven't found a way to customize these options yet. Other than those two, it hasn't been that different for me and there has been no real messing with the desktop icons although a few have changed for me but only in a minor way. I don't like to use old technology (but admit to doing so often) so I switched and am not bothered enough to switch back again. Ceil On Tue, Jan 17, 2023 at 4:28 PM Lyn Quine <lynquine@...> wrote:

If you don't know anyone who can copy the CD to a USB drive for you, then a USB - DVD/CD Drive is available (brand new) for as little as $15 on eBay. I bought one a couple of weeks ago for this very reason and also to copy music DVD's to my PC and it works perfectly.
Also, HLS does work on Win 11 without any problems. Hope this helps? ;-) |

Is that HL for the 12000 or the 15000 working on win 11. I know the 15000 works but wasn’t sure about for the 12000. I haven’t used the 12000 HL for a long time. On 17 Jan 2023, at 22:31, Ceil J <cjancola@...> wrote:

Lyn, I only have the 15000. I don't know about the 12000. On Wed, Jan 18, 2023 at 6:17 AM Lyn Quine <lynquine@...> wrote:

HL for the 12000 works just fine on Windows 11. I have both HL & HLS on my computer. To install a program that has a CD installation disc you'll need to purchase an external CD drive, or get someone (your Dealer? a friend?) to put the installation onto a USB. Your computer should have an unzipping option on it. On a zipped file, right click and you'll get a menu (options) of what to do. One of the options that you'll use to open that zipped file is "extract" files. Hope this helps. I’ve used 7-Zip for many, many years on different operating systems. It’s free and multi platform. I’m not sure about Win11 but it works fine on Win10 and below in the Windows world. Typos courtesy of autocorrect.

In Win 11 you don’t need winzip, if you open your file explorer, find the folder you want to unzip, either right click and select expand all, from the box, or if you look along the top tool bar, you’ll see expand all click that and it will unzip and put the
unzipped folder at the top of the list.

As an aside you don’t need unzip programs in Win 10 either, just right click zipped folder and select expand all. If I remember rightly you didn’t need one in win 7 either. I cant remember when I started using Windows to unzip it might have been XP, but I
haven’t used all the different versions of windows, but over the years I’ve used a few, and always dreaded the upgrades.

Try going online and type: https://www.winzip.com and that will point you to the latest version. Just download it. Your original registration key should still work.
