Windows 11 & Janome
Updated to windows 11 from windows 10. My little flower icons for Janome are gone and I have a red & white blob in its place. Clicking on them will not open them. It says it is a digitizer stitch file. My digitizer V.4 does not work (Janome MBX). These all worked in windows 10. I also have a message about Hasp E0009. I have been trying to resolve these problems since way before Christmas to no avail. Unable to sew. Contacted Microsoft, Janome (also Australia) and anyone who will listen. My dealer just shrugged his shoulders and ask me why I went to windows 11. Good Question, bad result. I have a Janome 15000 which I love. Maybe it is time to hang this up as I am 87 yrs. old and not computer savvy. Thank you for any help you can give me.

As far as I can work out only V5.5 MBX works on win 11. Wilcom no longer has a contract with Janome so there’s no help from them. I tried to get support from Janome last year and was told Janome UK no longer supports MBX. Maybe different in other countries.
Frustrating for you. Can you revert to win 10? Or get someone to do it for you?

A number of messages in this topic reflect good and bad results with Windows 11. You should be able to revert to Windows 10, though it might take a while. These instructions should get you started: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/downgrade-from-windows-11-to-windows-10/84a2416d-ccfb-4d87-9eee-e1056591e91f
For onlookers, here are some words of advice with regard to Windows:

If you aren’t a member of the Janome online group onlinesewing-janome@groups.io I would suggest that you join it. The guy that runs is a retired Janome dealer and he and his wife are extremely knowledgeable about most Janome machines and their various software programs. There’s no charge to be a member of that group.
Hope this helps.

I don’t have a solution for what happened to your machine during the upgrade to windows 11 but wanted to offer my sympathies because I fully understand the frustration of computer problems. I would like to share with others that Microsoft windows has been very aggressive with the upgrade to windows 11. Last week my laptop froze up, forcing me to upgrade to windows 11. Luckily I was able to shut down and maintain windows 10 since I was hearing of others having odd problems occurring. I hope this is not happening to others as well. I am not sure if reversing the upgrade back to windows 10 is an option?? Good luck with fixing your machine. I hope someone has a solution for you. Best, Janet.

Don't give up, Blessing! I don't have MBX so not sure I can offer much help, but a quick search re 'Hasp E0009' found this page <https://www.janome.com/en/support/janome-forum/forum-room/forum-topic/?tid=5184> the 3rd reply appears to have detailed help.
Also have a look here <https://help.wilcom.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002153576-How-to-Install-the-latest-HASP-Driver-> I've been using Win 11 with HLS and Digitiser Jr for a couple of months and not having any problems, but then (as above) I don't have MBX. Did your 15000 come with HLS or Digitiser Jr? Can feel your pain and understand your frustation, just wish I could help more but I'm sure there is someone out there who has had this problem and might share their experience. |

Do not give up never I am over 87 & still sewing strong. I have had the same problem with my Digitizer Jr & keep getting the Hasp driver. I have tried everything & still cannot use this software. I blame Janome for this as they should back up their software to work properly. If you find a solution please post it.

Glad to hear from you as my husband and I just jumped from Windows 7 to 11 and I'm very nervous about the transition. We have a concierge service with ours from Costco and only have set them up so far. I have a 15000 also and will be sick if I can't use it, although I use it more for sewing than embroidery. I'm not computer savvy either but certainly don't intend to "hang it up". Keep talking and asking questions until you get a result.

Janome no longer support MBX. V5.5 and I’m told V5 MBX works on windows11, I’m don’t know if earlier versions do. Wilcom no longer has a contract with Janome so there’s no support to back Janome who now have a new software called Artistic Digitiser, I believe you can upgrade from MBX to Artistic Digitiser and it works on both Mac and Windows.

5,0 does not work on windows 11 but I do believe 5,5 there is an update on the Janome Global webiste for that to be compatible. MBX is no longer supported by Janome.

MBX v5 works fine on Windows 11. Earlier versions that use a physical dongle probably will not work. How do I know this? My v5 works great on Windows 11. My friend has v4.5 and it wouldn't install on a new Windows 11 computer. This was early Winter of 2022, she had received the new computer as a Christmas gift. Janome Support did try to help her and even sent her a new v4.5 dongle but it didn't work. Note: At the time she sought their help they did say that they were just being helpful as they are not required to assist, which we unfortunately all knew. Favymtz
