MBX Reversing stitch direction on the blanket stitch

Another question for anyone using MBX, I have to digitize a simple design and I need to use the blanket stitch motif #10
but the problem is, its an open line and I need the stitch to go on the inside of my design and its going on the outside. How do I reverse it? I have not used the program for so long I can not remember, I've tried rotating, every which way and nothing is working. Vicki |

Vikki, I think that if you make your stitch and then do the “mirror image”, you will get what you need.

Cheryl, I can not find a Mirror image button, icon or anything that will

mirror the object. I only see flip horizontally and vertically. Then a rotate icon. I have looked all over. I even searched the user manual and can not find where it talks about a mirror image. Left drop down menu called layout, has mirror in all different direction.

Vicki- I could be wrong since I don't digitize anything and don't have your machine. But- if you flip horizontally, you should have a "mirror-image" is what my brain is telling me. Thank you for the reply, I would mirror the image but I can not find an
icon to do that. I have looked in every menu, fly out tool bar and
even
searched the online manual and I do not see where there is one. There
is options to flip vertically and horizontally but they don’t do what Im
needing
I don’t think I will get coal, Ive been good this year. LOL

You could copy it on your machine or load it twice and flip one the merge the 2 together, but the edit screen isn’t as good as software. Ou could do the same in 4.5 just make sure you zoom in enough to see them edged together

Vicki,
Try using the flip, but only one at a time to see what the result is. I’ve done this but not with the stitch you are using. I’m assuming that you want your stitch to have the run part on the inside and the little points to the outside. Where I’ve used these “flip” icons is with designs and sometimes end up using both and didn’t change a thing as it turned out just the way I started. I can’t think of an example now that I’m writing this. It usually happens when I’m having an “AH” moment and can’t remember that vertical is up and down and horizontal is the opposite, so I hit the wrong one first. You can always undo if you remember how the design was in the first place, so I recommend you be sure to have the original copy saved apart from what you are working on, in the present time. Cheryl - Saskatoon PS: This pattern may be one that doesn’t respond to what you need, but there should be a pattern that you could use built in that would get you the result that you are looking for. Play around with your stitches - that’s one way to learn what the machine can and cannot do. |

Reply 2 Another thing that may work is to make your line (or circle etc) using just the single run. Then select it and use the vertical flip tool. In v 4.5 there is not option under the down arrow
to select the blanket stitch. The only way to get it is thru the Emb.
Gallery. I gave up on it and just choose to outline the section with a

Vicki, I speak for Lyn, I think she means the vertical & horizontal flipping tools. They are commonly called “mirror”. I am going to make a video and post a link for it so that you can see what I mean by a way to trick the program to flip your motif inside out. I sure hope that if you purchased v5 that you have the installation disc for it so that you can upgrade your program. When we upgrade we normally paid about $300 or more for the program! Also, v4.5 with a dongle isn’t likely to run on a Windows 11 computer, whenever you have to update your computer; whereas v5 will. I have a friend who can no longer use her v4.5 on her new computer. Thank you so much for taking the time to do the video. I just watched
it and tried it and that worked.
Something so simple gave me so much trouble.
I am going to upgrade to a new digitizing software because eventually
(probably soon) my laptop will need to be upgraded.
