Bobbin Winding Question

Cat - N

I don't know which is the best.  We have a Sidewinder, used mostly for the long arm bobbins, but it does the job.

Any suggestions on the best type of bobbin winder. Most wind at real high speeds (super fast).

thanks,

Sure, sewing is fine. If the bobbin winder turns out to not be fixable/replaceable, you can get a stand-alone bobbin winder. Sewing is unaffected.

You may bring it in for service.  He may be able to repair it, but there is a possibility if you need another bobbin winder it may not be available.  Many of the parts for the 10000 are not available any longer.

Thank You,

Caren

Hello Again!

My MC10000 has decided to intermittently wind bobbins. It will wind for 'x' amount of time, then it sounds as if the motor is still going, but the bobbin has stopped turning.

Suggestions?

Thank you!!!

One more question. Is it safe to sew or does the 'flat tire' impact sewing?

The shaft of the bobbin winder is binding. This can happen if thread has wrapped around it, but more commonly it's from lack of lubrication. The problem is that when it stops turning the driving wheel keeps going and can wear down a flat spot on the rubber "tire" that drives it. You should take it in for service, as it will likely need that part as well as cleaning and lubricating.
