36b hoop for 550e
Pixey
Oops! I wondered if that might be the case when you indicated buying it separately. Unfortunately, the 500e (which is what I have) is not compatible with the 36b hoop. The arm of the 550e is actually a bit longer and has a slightly different shape to accommodate the 36b hoop.

I have 5 of the hoops and have not needed the others yet. The list below is in the order that they show up on my screen:
SQ 14b 5.5 x 5.5
SQ 20b 7:9 x 7.9
RE 20b 5.5 x 7.9
RE 28b 7.9 x 11.0
RE 36b 7.9 x 14.2
ASQ 18b 7.2 x 7.2 (for Acu-Fil quilting
RE 10b 3.9 x 1.6
HH 10b 3.9 x 3.6 (for hats)
The only hoops that will show up darker, indicating that you may use any of them with your chosen design, are the ones that will fit that design. If your chosen design is too large for the 36b hoop, that hoop will be shown in gray lines, meaning
that you cannot select it. If you have a small design, all of the hoops that will work with that design, including all of the larger ones, will show up in black lines and allow you to select which one you are using.

There maybe more than one page’ of hoops, you should see arrows on the screen to ‘turn the page’ if it isn’t listed on the first page.

The hoops should be listed on the machine, you should just select it and attach. The machine itself doesn’t know which hoop is attached, you just have to make sure that when you put it on the machine it is the one you’ve selected on the machine.

Maybe I am misunderstanding the question but the 36B hoop is a standard accessory for the 550 machine so it should recognize it

Hello, I just bought the 36b hoop and have the 550e machine, whenever I buy the embroidery patterns, this hoop size is shown as an option, will the machine recognize it? Or is there a way to have it a a choice for the hoop size in the machine?
Thank you
