Bobbin winder

Narda Poulin

Has anyone had a problem with their bobbin winder on the 15000.  Mine just wound about half of the bobbin underneath the winder ...what a hassle getting it out of there.  Does that winder sear ( the grey ting that the bobbin sits on come off?). That’s the second time that has happened .....I am going to keep a close eye on it from now on whenever i wind a bobbin

The plastic cutter disc does come off. Put fingers on each side, thumbs on the shaft, and pull up with the fingers while pushing down with the thumbs.

I had this happen before and discovered I had allowed a loop of thread to get underneath when prepping the bobbin for winding. I am more careful now and it has never happened again.

I’ve had that problem and I now hold the thread in my left fingers to hold it at the right height until the bobbin is well started.

That happened to me when I first got my 15000.  Ever since then I aways watch it wind.

Thank you for responding. Will try that. We tried to lift the disc off but it felt like the edges were going to break ....maybe didn’t have my thumbs on the shaft...so will try it like you suggested. Thanks again

It happened to me too quite a while back and now I always check that I have it threaded correctly and the thread is at the right angle before I start winding.

I ended up using a small pair of sissors and my overlocker tweezers to get every last bit of thread out from under the cutter.  Didn't know at the time you could actually take the cutter off, though I expect I wouldn't have had enough hand pressure to do it.
