Dual feed feet

Just got a stitch in the ditch foot for the dual feed system, only to find out, after the fact, that all the decorative stitches are frayed out when you turn on the dual feed.  Is there a workaround to that?

If you don't turn on the Dual Feed option on the screen, but you use the Dual Feed foot, you will have all the stitches. The only thing you will lose is the ability to use the knob at the right end of the machine to adjust the difference between the top and bottom feeding.

Thank you.  Will the dual feed still work?

Yes, you will still have operational dual feed. What you won't have is the ability to adjust it using the knob at the right end of the machine. Also keep in mind that many decorative stitches are reverse-cycle stitches, meaning they sew both forward and backward to make the pattern. They may not feed the same in both directions with some fabrics when using dual feed, so you may see some stitch distortion. However there is no danger to the machine doing this. You just need to test what you're going to do on scrap first to make sure it will work as you want.
