OT - 500E

Don't worry Deb, Horizon Link/Suite and the new one for the 500E are very similar to Customizer in many ways . You shouldn't have any trouble coming to terms with it.

Thanks for the reply! Since I haven’t had the 12000, I’m
not familiar with Horizon Link either – lol. I’ve always transferred my
designs to the embroidery machine via flash drive, and do not keep any more
designs on it than the ones I’m working on at the time.
My local dealers should have them in sometime this month;
however, I’m wondering if Janome will come out with a package deal around
Christmas time! I may go and see it, but wait to get it until closer to
Christmas!

The software included with the 500E is similar to the Horizon Link/Suite for the 12000/15000. You can edit and write designs direct to the machine via cable or to a USB. In the hoop choices a quilting hoop and hat hoop are shown so I imagine when the quilting hoop is released there may be an upgrade for the software included to update the current version. In Australia we only get 2 hoops with the machine , the 200 x 200 and the 280 x 200. The smaller and rectangle hoops have to be purchased .All the feedback I have heard has been very positive !

A Youtube video from an AU sewing company mentioned it would have an AcuFill hoop available in the future, but all the info so far just indicates a USB port and nothing about WiFi. Seems like it would make business sense for them to just repurpose HorizonLink from the 12000, that is IF you can transfer directly rather than just using a USB stick.

Since there's no specific group (yet) for the new 500E, I thought I might ask my question here - Just wondering - I'm really looking forward to getting the 500E; thanks! Deb (KY) |
