I thought I read here that the circular attachment was available for the 15000 but I can't find it anywhere and I notice that the Foot Book doesn't seem to be updated to include it. So unless someone tells me otherwise, I am going to believe it's not available yet (sob! sob! sob!).

It is available for the 15000. Part number 202-135-007 (Circular sewing attachment). There is a circular attachment; it was originally designed for the 12,000, but should work for the 15000- we just got them in. A FootBook update is in the works to include the latest feet and accessories for the 15000. One thing that slows us up is waiting to actually get them so we can take photographs. Janome usually announces before they actually ship, which slows us down.

I've been reading in these posts that the 12000 & 15000 have different bobbin cover/plate. Thus the quilt binding accessory and maybe circular attachment don't fit. Someone else reported that the 9200 model has same configuration as 15000. Considering the price of these, I want to be sure they fit and work right.

Good Morning, I have my circular attachment - my early Christmas present to myself. It is different the the one for the 12000 and machines with that particular needle plate. It also has a stabilizer on it so it won't move like the old ones did so that sometimes the circle wasn't round. However, our Janome Educator told us to put a piece of tape on the others and then it would not move - don't why I didn't think of that. I'm still waiting for my binder attachment - wish they would just sell me the bottom plate, but apparently Janome Canada isn't going to do that, so it will be the whole thing again. I do have lots of children and some do sew so the old one can be passed on. Cheryl - Saskatoon |

Jim, I bought a circular stitching attachment today – and it’s P/N 200-304-003. It did not say what machine it would fit, but while at my dealer’s we put it on a 12000 machine and it fit fine – or so it does seem to fit. What would be the difference in the part number someone gave of 202-135-007 and what I bought? Two of the sales people also agreed that it seemed to fit just fine. Is it going to work because I don’t have my machine here to try it out. If this fits the 12000 machine, it should also fit the 15000.

No, it won't work. The circular stitching attachment works by snapping in place of the bobbin cover. The bobbin cover for the 15000 is not as wide as the one on the 12000, so anything that replaces the bobbin cover on the 12000 will not fit on the 15000. Your dealer will need to order the 202-135-007 part. |

Jim, perhaps I wasn’t clear, but I am wanting this circular sewing attachment to fit on my MC12000 as I don’t have a 15000. You are saying that the attachment I have won’t work on the 12000? I put it on one in the store and it fit perfectly. A salesperson did the same and it also fit. We removed the bobbin cover from the 12000 machine and put this attachment in its place. Perhaps you are saying that it won’t work on the 15000, but it does work on the 12000, right? I didn’t want to be fooled by the fact that it seemed to fit and then perhaps it doesn’t. The part is 200-304-003.

Sorry, I thought you were asking about a 15000 since you tried it on a 12000 in the store and it worked. Yes, that's the correct part # (200-304-003) for the 12000 circular stitcher and it is made for the 12000, NOT the 15000. |

Diane has reminded me that 200-304-003 was made for the 11000 and prior models. We were able to make it work on the 12000, but we had to remove the needle plate to attach it. The part has since been updated to fit models that have the 12000 style bobbin cover and you don't need to remove the plate to attach it. This newer model is part #202-106-009. |

Jim, Thank you so much for the help. I actually did not know that the bobbin area for the 15000 was any different so that is why my first message was so confusing to you. I should have spelled it out better. All of the info I had read about the circular attachment part that I bought said it was for the 6500,6600, etc. and made no mention of the 12000 so wanted to be sure that even though it seemed to fit that it actually was made for it.

Per my follow-up message, the plot thickens even more. What you bought is the circular stitcher made for the 6500, 6600, 7700 and 11000. It *does* fit on the 12000, but we had to remove the needle plate to attach it. Janome modified it and made the new part #202-106-009 which fits all previous models and it goes on the 12000 without needing to remove the plate. You should have your dealer order this one and exchange it. |
