Commision

Does anyone know the average commission a sales person is paid at the Sewing machine store, or at a Quilt event? |

I don't know of a commission, but they usually sell machines at a 50% profit. GINGER Custom embroidery and stock designs On May 28, 2018 at 1:33 PM cas <cassweet@...> wrote:

I don’t think there is an “average”! Since most of the LQS are individually owned and not part of a big box company, salaries and commissions are dependent on the individual owner.
From my experience, I’ve seen stores give no commission to their individual staffers to a small percentage of the cost (shop sale price not MSRP) of some but not all machines. The high end machines were not part of the commission programs.
I can’t comment on what goes on at Quilt events as I have not participated in them at that level.

I work at one but we don't get commission for sales. Just a discount on products.

Interesting. I figured they all made a sales commission like other retail venues. I know they do at our local dealer but didn’t come right out and ask how much. Cas |

I am sure alot of stores do give commissions to their employees, and our store may offer them if they get to where we sell more. Right now I don't think they sell enough to barley make a profit. We are a newish store in our town. Some people that don't know about the quality of quilting cottons buy at JoAnns's.
