Quilting question
If you’re going to press your HSTs open you may want to use a very short stitch at the ends and extend it past the cloth a stitch or two. I made an ironing board cover from ironing board fabric found

Quilting question
How I press the seams depends on the pattern. I usually try to press to one side. Sometimes it's impossible and you end up with a lot of bulk in one place, then I try to press open or fan them. Cas

Twin needles
I forgot what the original poster wanted to use a double needle in embroidery for? It seems there is so much thread to deal with already. Cas

RE 18 "Essential" 5"x7" hoop
RE18 should already show up on the second page of your available hoops I think, just click the down arrow. I bought it but don’t think the size is much different than SQ14 as far as saving on stabiliz

motor replacement question
It takes forever to get parts to the dealer. Jim explained why before. I think he said they wait till they have a full order for a shipment from Japan, then it goes to the east coast, then to the deal

HP Foot
I went to the Straight stitch plate and A foot, and it went over the bulk ok. I changed from June Taylor to Carol Doak papers too. The Doak ones are thinner, basically newsprint with no print on them.

Yes, I used the HP foot with the HP plate. I just went back to the F foot with the straight stitch plate yesterday. I haven’t joined my halves yet so I haven’t been able to report the difference. Cas

After the Update
I quilted a fairly heavy purse before I updated. Sometimes going through 8 seams. It worked fine until I couldn't fit the purse under the body of the machine. Then I had to get my older Janome out so

Obsolete Janome machines? ? ?
That’s what I meant, the stuff on the motherboard. LOL. I didn’t mean the piece of plastic the parts were connected to would wear out. Motherboards can be replaced if damaged, obviously. I wonder how

Obsolete Janome machines? ? ?
I worry about them becoming obsolete too. I remember telling myself it’s ok to spend a small fortune since the machine would be all I’d ever need. I never thought about the motherboard wearing out. Ca
