Normally there’s at least 2 phones, my iPad and an IMAC and my Acer all happily sharing the internet.  As soon as I put the 15 on the net everything slows down and the internet drops.  We’ve tested it by putting everything on the net and then turning one off at a time, the 15 will only work on the internet if all bar either the iPad or one of the windows devices  is on.  My husband can’t use the iMac with the 15 on wifi, as soon as the 15 is off the internet all the devices can share again.  I don’t bother now I use a USB stick.  We are in the UK and virgin media is our ISP  they’ve looked at our system remotely, they can see what we use and everything is working as it should.  We are in a part of the country which has the best internet coverage and speed.  It’s the 15 that’s the problem.  It’s a V2 upgraded to 3 perhaps later versions are better

Shirley,  Are you sure that your Customizer program is compatible with Windows 10?  At some point programs we bought years ago become obsolete, just like our old Windows programs from the computer we used when we bought our embroidery machine and the software that went with it as well.  Change can be good, but isn't necessarily what we expect when it happens too quickly for use.  If you can keep the old computer working, that might be  your easiest and best option to continue with your Customizer program.  That isn't always possible but a possible solution to the problem.

I had this problem at one time. In my case it wasn’t  my 15000, but a problem with how the modem/wifi was configured to handle multiple devices. There is only so much bandwidth and it has to share what it has with the devices using it. What my system was doing was that the first device to use the internet hogged everything and would release it when others “came knocking”.

My internet provider is Windstream and they were able to access my account remotely thru the internet IP address and change a couple of settings to allow multiple devices and to reset bandwidth when devices were added/removed. I would assume that other internet providers have similar capabilities.

I have sent via wifi from V5 to the 15000, but it has been hit and miss.  I find the 15000 is very wifi hungry, I can’t have anything else other than either the iPad and send from the Acu suite or my laptop and V5 with the machine in wifi mode.  I can’t have the machine on the wifi every time it’s switched on because nothing else can you the wifi.  Normally our phones computers etc are on the wifi with no problems, but they can’t connect once the 15 is on it.  The laptop can’t be next to the 15000 either it has to be away from it maybe even in another room, if it’s sat next to it as I would to connect by the cable it doesn’t work.

That is strange. I have not had that issue. It is probably your server.

The embroidery carriage is recalibrated each time the machine is turned on. If that's not doing it you will need service.

Shirley-
Put the cd into your computer's drive and it will start the installation program and you just follow the prompts from the Install Wizard.  It works well on Windows 10.

my embroidery unit was working fine then seemed to get stuck and now is not moving forward and backward with the design. Is there a way to reset or recalibrate it?

MBX V5.0 does not support WiFi to machines. I can't speak to V5.5, as we don't have it.

I can not figure out how to install the Customizer program.  Will have to get some help.  Just been way too busy .  This isn't the easiest new computer for me to use.  I am so sad but know when I get it down I will be okay with it.  Just have to get it figured out.

Forgive me for ways I have been asking questions.  Installing MBX was not easy going from windows 10 - 10 as you stated previously.  Thank you for your help.  Thank you soooo much!

Does MBX send via WiFi to the Janome 15000?   If so I can’t get it to work,  I always send via HSL.    HSL sends no problem, but that’s two steps.  Maybe for a good reason i dont know.

An update for the dongle driver on Windows 8.1 is available here: https://www.janome.co.jp/e/e_downloads/digitizerdongle_v40.html

Generally when Windows crashes it will either throw an error message in whatever program caused the crash, or you'll get the blue screen of death. If the computer is completely turning off (black screen, no keyboard or mouse), it could be hardware. The only hardware in MBX is the dongle. If it has shorted out internally that would cause the USB to draw too much power and the computer power supply would instantly shut down, thus turning off the computer.

JIm, I went to use my digitizer program and it turns my computer off. I asked my own computer guy and he does not think it is the computer since all other programs come up just fine. I have a new computer that I wanted to install digitizer on but I have had it on another computer that died. I have windows 8 on my pc. Is there maybe an update that could fix this problem? My dongle lights up just fine. I don't use it as often as I used to so I really don't want to spend the money for a new computer.

Shirley -

Your Customizer 10K Plus will work just fine on Windows 10.  Just install it.  There isn't a problem with 64bit vs 32bit like with other operating systems.  I did this when I got Windows 10.  And- I use it alot to make sure designs I download from online work right and open.  That being said - most of the time I copy/paste designs from my computer to the compact reader/writer that I have the flash card inserted into.  Most of my editing can be done on the machine so I don't worry about using the Customoer program to send designs to the machine.  I use the Gigahoop probram if I am doing a large design that needs to be split.

I also look at designs using the free Wilcom Truesizer program.  It will let me resize and adjust the stitch count but that is about the only editing that I do with it that I can't do on my MC10001 unless I need to change a format on a design - but that isn't often.  If I do alter a design - I just change the file name slightly so that it won't overwrite the original design when I save it to my computer.

Thanks for sharing your love of sewing and embroidery with your granddaughter!!  She'll be able to embellish her clothes and do gifts for her friends in no time!!

At a local quilt festival today I saw a demo of "Rhinestone Genie" a system that uses magnetic templates, a cookie tray, peel and stick plastic, and rhinestones (with glue of some sort on the back) to add bling to projects.  It's not my style but looked like fun and seemed to work well.  Their website is rhinestonegenie.com.   Not exactly what you want perhaps but it made me think of this thread.

No, the card reader you currently use should work on Windows 10, as long as it plugs into a USB port.

I have used “Beads 2 Fuse” in the past with success.  They are very tiny clear glass beads that you use a double sided fusible to apply over the top of embroidery, etc.  They don’t melt, but do overlay the design to accent it.  I used them on mermaid tails, etc but can’t find the pictures...

I framed the items, so there really wasn’t any wear or laundering so I don’t know how well would hold up over time & use.

Hope that helps,
