Re: 14000 jammed big time

When the hand wheel won’t turn it’s usually because the bobbin case has pulled up over the stopper and gotten impaled by the hook. The needle may also have stabbed the bobbin case. Loosen the needle clamp and remove the needle if you can. If the wheel still won’t turn remove the throat plate and take out the bobbin case. If it won’t come out try turning the hand wheel backward to release it. Once you get the bobbin case out the wheel should turn. You will need a new bobbin case, and there may be some damage to the hook race. Inspect it carefully under strong light and magnification.

Did you check for a thread nest?  I have had similar happen because of a thread nest in the bobbin area.

Subject: [onlinesewing-janome] 14000 jammed big time

I looked at the other posts about the needle bar jamming, but my problem seems to be different.  I’ve been embroidering on a project for a couple of days. Then this afternoon while it was embroidering, I suddenly heard a loud thunk, and the machine stopped. I got the message to raise the needle bar, but the hand wheel won’t budge. I’ve turned if off and on several times, but nothing happens.  Help please.

Thank you, Pixey, and others who have given me some suggestions. Brick-and-mortar Dealers often do not have the full variety of feet in stock, so I rely on the net to scope out ALL of the things available. I am considering getting the Clear View Quilting set, it looks like the best visibility for me. I am liking this .io Group very much!

Have you considered the Clear View Quilting Set, part # 202089005.  I use mine a lot without any of the guides screwed on it.  It would not give you a full zigzag, but would let you use the needle in the center position or to the right.

Another foot to consider might be the Border Guide Foot FB, part number 202084000.  It has the full stitch width slot with better markings on the center section than the satin stitch foot F.

I cannot seem to find a foot that fits my Skyline S7 machine. I want a clear plastic foot, like the satin foot I have, but with a much narrower space between the toes of the foot.. I would like to have one in a zig zag version, and one in a straight stitch version.  All the ones I have seen are metal and I can't see the stitch line up close to the needle. The S7 is a 9mm  width zigzag, with the snap-on foot.   Does anyone have any suggestions? I have looked at the Janome website for appropriate feet and accessories
for my S7, but it looks like maybe they don't offer what I am looking for?  Would a foot for another Janome model work?  I understand my S7 is a Category F  Janome.
Thank you for any suggestions,

Re: MC12000 embroidery module ribbon

Jim Stutsman

It doesn't take much for that ribbon to wrinkle up like an accordion. It's an inexpensive part that most dealers will have (because it is not unusual for it to do this). Dealer labor is also not very intense, so it should NOT be a high dollar repair. You might present it with a sad story about Christmas gifts that need to be done, along with a plate of gingerbread or sugar cookies.

I can not believe that Janome is so blocked by the old IPads in development. That's too bad. Thus, the 15000 has no further development in front of itself ... very much a pity ....

Thank you Patricia, Visor Gold is perfect.

Pros/Cons of purchasing used Janome 15000?

Jeffrey Underwood

I am looking at purchasing a Janome 15000 used.  Is there anything I should look for or be worried about?

Re: Janome Thread-Tangerine #274

Thank you Betty, Visor Gold is perfect!  I forgot about the thread choices in  the 15K, I selected RA when I got the machine and forgot about that benefit.

Re: Janome Thread-Tangerine #274

Andrea LaVergne

I used Scott's Point of Sale software for my Janome store, and sold the Thread box, I didn't know about the organizing stash software.  He was easy to work with and just like Jim would do updates when we asked for different additions to his programs.

VMWare font enlarging on HL-haven't found a way that works to use it for the whole program, just to magnify one spot ("+") which the box usually covers so I can't read anything!  I had both eyes done for cataract removal so I see better than I did as a teenager now and don't need glasses after wearing them for 60 years.

I use Numbers with the "Home Inventory" theme for my sewing inventory, I just finished entering my clothing fabric inventory.  I should never started selling clothing fabric in my shop!

Re: New machine question

Glad to Kathy, though I am not sure how quickly I will be putting it through its paces.  I do not expect to have a lot of time to sew until my end-of-March retirement.  We do have a couple of other members with HD9 machines who spoke highly of it when I asked about 6 weeks ago.  They might be willing to offer a more detailed review as well.
I will say in taking it out of the box, it is quite heavy (which broke up the smaller styrofoam extrusions a bit in shipping) especially when compared to its size...so lots of dense metal.   Reminds me a bit of my mom’s 1960s vintage green cabinet Kenmore (that could sew through anything)...except it doesn’t do zig zag or have the decorative ducky cams.

My 12000 embroidery module ribbon (the plastic looking strip that the arm moves back and forth on) cracked and crinkled. Does any one know is this is an expensive repair?

MB7

Hello.  I am a new MB7 owner and I am having random top thread looping on my embroideries.  I have been machine embroidering for 10+ years and digitize.  I had a similar problem with my Pfaff CSP and it ended up being a bobbin winding tension issue, I had to stop using pre wound bobbins.
I wind all my own bobbins for the MB7, I use the metal bobbins that came with the machine and the built in bobbin winder.
Any Ideas?

For the record I am using the correct needles, clean and oil the machine and change needles regularly.

Thanks

Re: Janome App for embroidery machine

Gute Frage! (Great question) Apps are very much connected to the iOS operating system and the operating system is limited by the capabilities of the device. For example, when the 15000 was released Janome gave away free iPads in the US. Those were 2nd generation iPads, which were already being replaced by more capable models. Those iPads can not be updated to any version of iOS after iOS 9. We are currently at iOS 13. The apps on those devices still work, but you cannot get any new apps that require iOS 10 or later. So if you have an older device, the apps on it will continue to work as long as the device does. You just won't be able to get any new apps. Developers would like to make apps that support even old devices, but Apple this and it becomes difficult to add features that require newer versions of iOS.

I have an S7 and a 12000 and interchange the feet.  I find I use the HD quarter inch foot a lot, whenever I need to see where I am stitching and for exact edge stitching (obviously straight stitching only).  Have you thought about the applique foot for a good view of wider stitches?

I would be interested if Janome the apps for the embroidery machines overworked. they work after Appel has implemented a few updates, but they somehow stopped when looking at Brother.

I have an S9 and a 15000 and I interchange their feet since they’re both 9mm. I’m going to guess the S7 may be the same? I don’t know if that expands your options to a foot that’s closer to what you’re looking for.
Hope you find what you’re hunting for.
