Opening designs in HLSuite

Carole O'Mara

All my designs were purchased when I had the 12000.  Now, have 15000.  All designs are in folders on my computer and have the HL icon next to them.  When I open the folder and select a design, it does not open in HL.  I have to open HLSuite, Edit embroidery designs, view emb, click on the design and it opens it.  Why don't they open in HLSuite automatically?  I remember with the 12000 that I was able to do that.
thanks,
Carole

Jim & Diane offer the FootBook that is for use with iPhone & iPad only. It can be purchased singly or in a bundle with 'My15000' & 'Quilt in the Hoop', which is iPad only use.
I have spent long periods with FootBook & My15000 & highly recommend both. I've spent little time to date with 'Quilt in the Hoop' but fully expect that part of the bundle will be rated highly just like the others.

Separately, you can get an updated manual (if your machine has been upgraded) from your dealer at no charge which includes all updates and you'll get a pdf link. It's 198 pages but not workbook. Its detail is helpful.

Also, I have recently become aware of 'Quiltmaker MC15000 Workbook' that includes another book, the addendum- there's no need to buy addendum because it is included in the workbook. Amazon offers it @$59.95- I don't own it- (only aware of its existence).

The MC15000 is sufficiently complex that I'm open to having each & every aide in learning all its secrets & at some point, I'll not need their help with each step but so far, I'm a 100% needy 15000 user.
Enjoy all the aides that help master our machines & I hope these items help you master your MC15000.

Re: Which E-Mail to Use?

I have several email accounts.  A general one for using on websites and anything thats not important.  Another on a separate host for finance and PayPal (no utilities on it, banks and credit cards and PayPal only.  I have others too for forums etc.  I keep them separate then there’s less chance of being hacked.  If they’re going to hack anything it will benthhe general one, that is used around the web on various websites, that’s one of 3 I have on hotmail.  I’ve had hotmail accounts for years and it’s always been ok, I think I was hacked once and that was probably my fault. For being onan open WiFi, at an airport.  I now use a VPN to hide behind, which makes it more difficult to hack.

That's our app alright, but it's old. The links are outdated. This is current:  http://www.onlinesewing.com

Once you have an Apple ID, you have it forever. (And don't EVER have more than one! Long story, don't ask.) They don't track what products you own, another reason I like them.

Gmail actually reads your mail for the purpose of inserting advertising and collecting data. Yahoo probably does too, as Verizon would not have bought it if they couldn't make money from it.

Thanks, Jim. I will check out iCloud mail further.

But one question about needing an Apple ID.  Right now I have multiple Apple products. What if I ditch them all?  Could I continue using the Apple e-mail on my PC ?

Thanks much.

I believe this is the app (or available as a DVD) that everyone is talking about?  It looks good:  http://www.sarahannsmith.com/weblog/?p=6412

Which E-Mail to Use?

Carole Hollmann

I was just forced to upgrade my version of Yahoo Mail and it made me (once again) question whether it is the best mail to use.  I've had the same account for 15 years and haven't had any real problems.  On the other hand, I depend upon e-mail for things like communicating with this group.  I keep quite a few of your messages that have tips that are of particular interest to me.  I don't want to lose any of those!

I'm doing my beginning of the year clean up and organizing and want to start fresh when necessary.  So my question is ... what is the "safest" e-mail to use in your opinion?

Thanks to Jim and all who have any ideas.

Re: MBX5.5 UK

Viola, Southport must be getting really fed up now (good) because I’ve contacted them before Christmas and they claimed they didn’t know about it. I even contacted Japan, they ignored me!   Then I found out on here it’s on sale in Norway, contacted them they contacted Japan who said it will be on sale in the UK and should be by now.  I’ve sent a very moany email to Southport, and I know others have complained too and I’ve put a review on their Fb page, complaining they treat their customers like mushrooms, keep them in the dark and feed them on sh.t!  I’m not going to hold my breath, I think it will be a while yet.  I might even see if I can get it from the states by devious means......  a friend of a friend who lives there!
