Re: Error message on 11000

Charlene Kay Bergren

Hi Jim - I just read your response to the 15000 error message regarding  "Raise Presser Foot and Needle Bar, then turn power on again."   I am getting this message periodically on my 11000.  If I turn the power off and then turn it back on, the message usually disappears and it is working ok again.  Does your advice follow the same path on the 11000?  Is there a procedure to find the sensor or will I have to take it back to the service person. I just had it serviced and I think I failed to mention this problem.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Manually raise the presser foot to highest height, turn the hand wheel with your hand,  sometimes this will cancel the problem. Otherwise the technician failed to lubricate the part under the top cover.

This message occurs when the power-on self test fails. Unfortunately it does not tell you which part failed. One common problem happens if the needle plate was changed (15000) and did not get seated correctly. Take it off an put it back on, pushing down on the circle on the plate. If that fails then the problem is another area. Which usually means a sensor that needs adjusting. For that you’ll need your dealer.

Today I have an error message: "Raise Presser Foot and Needle Bar, then turn power on again."  The presser foot and needle bar are already raised and when I turn the power off and then on, the message is repeated. My machine will not allow me to go any further.

It was serviced last month.

Thank you, Steven and Tracy.
I bought the cable to add to the cable that came with the machine...the one with one square end. I guess I need to go directly to a USB port on the machine then to the computer.
Thanks for your help. I wonder why the machine cable won't fit though.,

Re: error message: rethread

It doesn’t sound like the problem is in the bobbin case. Loose stitches on the bottom are due to insufficient tension on the top thread. A loss of top tension could also cause a retread error message. Start by folding a narrow strip of fabric in half. Lock the machine and put the folded edge into the right hand thread slot near the top of the machine. Move the strip back and forth to floss out any debris that may be in there. A small wad of thread between the tension discs will move around and cause the tension to come and go, causing errors like you are having. If that doesn’t resolve your problem have your tech look at the check spring to make sure it is working correctly.

For the threader issue have your tech recalibrate it after setting the threader type to “OLD”. He’ll know where to do that. The NEW setting is only for machines that were built as Quilt Maker models.

Meryl-

The cable that you showed is one of the newer 2.0 cables (my new cell phone has this type of cable to charge it) and I do not think its the right cable for your machine.  Make sure the end that fits your machine has the right opening for the cable.  I know my older model Janome uses a cable that has the square end on it like a printer has.  The end of the computer is a "normal" usb end.  It looks like the cable you need is just a "normal" usb tip on both ends - one for the machine and one for the computer.  The cable that you showed (the link) is not the one that is correct.  Sorry.

error message: rethread

Cathy

I am feeling very frustrated with my 15000!  I have replaced the bobbin case three times in the five years I have owned the machine.  I am continually getting an error message asking me to "rethread".  I had my tech check it out and we replaced the bobbin case.  It will work fine for awhile, and then get loose stitches on the underside.  This happens both in sewing and embroidery mode.  I have rethreaded, changed the needle, cleaned the bobbin case and dusted around the bobbin area.

I have had trouble with my automatic threader since day one.  It was upgraded when quiltmaker v2 came out and I still am having trouble.

I use my machine daily and have it serviced yearly.  I am feeling like I have purchased a lemon.

Any suggestions?

Feel Better Diane, the video re-run was great! Love all of the apps I could listen to that “voice” all day long.

I have created a much smaller file with lower resolution images. It should download without problem.
Door Drapes Low-Res.pdf

Re: Facebook Echo

Jim Stutsman

I did that. Surprisingly it's actually slightly bigger when zipped! The problem is most likely due to the images. I will create a low-res version for the bandwidth impaired.

Thanks Jim for setting up the database. I've moved my remaining items to the Database.

That looks like the wrong cable. It has two male ends.

I think you need something like this with a male end and a female end. The male end goes into the computer, and your USB stick goes into the other side:

I have the Quilt Binder and use it. Took patience while learning but practicing on smaller squares till I got the hang
of doing the corners. Watching the video on the apps helped a lot.
Diane has certainly been through a lot and I wish her a speedy full recovery.

Jim: Would it be okay to zip it?
I just downloaded the pdf okay but then zipped it to compress the file. I can put that in the file if that helps those who have slow internet.
Just a thought.

It may be too large a file for your ISP. This often happens if you are on satellite internet. Unfortunately I can’t do anything to fix that.
