For Nancy and anyone else who missed the original post #4405, here's a rerun:

After almost a year in development, we are happy to announce our video guide for
the Janome Horizon Memory Craft 12000, Volume 1. This volume covers the sewing
functions of the machine, including all of the SET screens as well as all of the
Application (T-shirt) screens. We've also included 3 bonus videos. The guide is
provided on an interactive DVD, which can be used on any computer that has a DVD
drive and a web browser, Windows, Mac or Linux. The information in the videos is
either covered in much greater depth than the owner's manual, or is not included
in the manual at all.

We've prepared a sample video to give you some idea of what they are like.
Because of bandwidth restrictions, we have greatly compressed it. This results
in much lower quality, but all of the content is there. Here's the link for the
sample:
http://12kvideo.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html

The introductory price of the video guide is $39.95, with free shipping
worldwide. However we have prepared a special page for members of this group
where you can get a $10 discount, bringing it down to $29.95. Here's the link
for the member page:

The DVDs have been produced and we will ship all outstanding orders tomorrow. It's doubtful that the Frisco Post Office will get them on the road before Monday. Those of you in the US should have them in 3-5 days. Outside the US the postal service claims 7-10 days, but the team of 3-legged dogs they use for delivery usually clocks in at 10-14 days. In any case we want to thank everyone for you patience!

Thanks for clearing that up Jim, I hoped it was you but also wondered if I had 'bought' something by mistake.

Looking forward to the DVD and keep up the good work, it is a great help.

Best wishes, Joan in UK

Gerda , I am glad you asked this question as I also use Mozilla Firefox and would not thought to ask.

Glad Jim figured out the solution before we need it.

Want to get my DVD ordered this week.

Jim, want to say I appreciate the discount for the members as well as thank you and Diane for all your work. Zoe

Strangely FireFox, the first non-Microsoft browser, STILL does not support HTML5 video, as every other browser does. Fortunately our DVD detects this and will instruct you to install Adobe Flash, if it's not already installed. So you should have no problems with the DVD.

Feather stitch again

Who can tell me the Stitch Number of the feather stitch...the real feather stitch like the old fashioned one. Just the stitch number on our Janome 12000. Thanks again.

That 12000 followed me right out the door! Once I started sewing on it I knew I had to have it.

It's a much larger machine than what I'm used to, so now I have to rearrange my sewing room!

I was amazed at all the features it has, but I'm not too sure about that needle threader. Hopefully, once I get it set up in my own surroundings, I'll do better.

I have ordered the DVDs from you Jim and can't wait to get them. Thank you for all that you do!

Sue

Re: Feather stitch

The feather stitch is located under the Quilt application.  You have it going both north and south and it can be altered.  Looking on your flip up that shows the stitches you can see under quilt and it is highlighted in pink.

What stitch number and category do you like best to do a neat feather stitch ...like on a crazy quilt? Thanks

Re: Let the shipping begin!

Yes it did. I remember printing the label. Due to the aggressive Spam filters everybody uses, email is less reliable than a $4 cell phone. Rest assured, it's on the way, even if we could not email you.

Re: Wingneedles for Embroidery

Debra Schaap <debraschaap@...>

I used a wing needle in my 12000 today for a wing needle embroidery design.  The wing needle goes through the embroidery needle plate OK  but I chose not to change  the plate, just using the regular zig zag plate and the embroidery bobbin case.  I slowed the speed down to 700.  It worked fine.

I got this email too and was very hesitant to open it.  I didn't recognize who it was from.  Being very careful as someone hacked into my husband's Facebook account!  Long story, but I'm being very cautious now!

Glad to see your email. I sighed a sigh of relief!

Re: Wingneedles for Embroidery

Jim_Stutsman <jim@...>

We used them on the 11000, but have yet to try on the 12000. However if you use a size 100 it should be fine. After going into embroidery mode and putting in the needle, turn the hand wheel and make sure the needle clears the hole in the plate. Embroidery is done in the left needle position, so it will be close, but as long as it isn't touching it should be fine.

Jim,
Is it ok to use wingneedle embroidery files in the 12000?  Thread n Scissors created some really beautiful designs I'd like to be able to use.  If the wingneedle fits comfortably through the plate when the needle is advanced by hand, is it safe to use?

Thanks for your help.
