I designed a design in MBX, and saved it as a jef. I opened Horizon Link, and brought up the transfer window, found the design, selected it, and when I tried to transfer it to the emb folder, I got the Japanese error message, with the name of my design.jbf it was definetely a jef file, so why might Horizon link be bringing up the jbf, and not recognizing the jef associated with it, allowing me to transfer? I can go to that same design, and just save it on the flash drive, so I don't need Horizon Link...but would like to know if it is something I could avoid, or if it is an error in Horizon Link. Welcome Anna! Have a look round and enjoy yourself. We have tea at 4, and happy hour from 6-8 each evening. There are lots of friendly, helpful folks here. I would suggest not spending too much time with that lot at the back booth during happy hour, as they get a bit rowdy after the 3rd bottle of wine.

Please do bear in mind that Sparky, the 3-legged dog our Postal Service uses for delivering parcels, is not a strong swimmer. He may need a few extra days to cross the Atlantic. When he does finally show up, please reward him with a bit of bacon. Our Sparky was quite the speedy pup until that incident with the great white while crossing the barrier reef in Australia a few years back. He now sports a shark-repelling collar, and a barb on the tip of his tail. He picked up that tip from a sting ray in Bermuda last year.

The US Postal Service was looking into adding more delivery dogs this year, but the global shift to email has decimated their budget. Last spring they ran a trial program with some cats, but they never were able to get them to deliver much of anything, and the program was canceled after someone tried to ship a crate of fish and the entire team disappeared with the parcel. There has been some talk about using apes, especially for the large and heavy packages, but they are very hard to get, as all of the airports have them under contract as baggage handlers. So the search continues.

I certainly did not intend to disparage the US Postal workers, but rather the politicians who created the mess we are in. Like you, our regular carrier is awesome, but our post office was built for a town less than 1/5 the size that it currently is. Going to the post office is a nightmare of lines and irritated people on both sides of the counter. Hug your hubby and thank him for his years of service before Congress "fixed" it!

--- In janome12000@..., Milton Frazier wrote:

okay I kind of have to put my 2 cents in. My hubby is a retired Postmaster. He has been retired now about 20 years (he took the early out they offered at age 51 He had 34 years but the age is 55 for retirement so we did take a cut in the retirement.) He could see the changes coming and they offered him a retirement he could not refuse, however, since then he has gone back on contract about 10 times because they could not get anyone to do his job as well as he and he could see little by little the PO going down. The only thing he realized was his hands were tied he was only a contract employee at that point, well needless to say he has taken up woodworking now and when they ask for him to return he says no thank you. The PO was extremely good to us and our family during the 60's 70"s 80" and 90's but we realize those days are gone, much because of the hiring practices the PO has had to oblige with. Especially with Govt rules. Many do not realize the Govt does not fund the PO and want to make it a private enterprise. The benefits are not there any more. Many people think our benefits are the same as the Senators and Representatives in Washington. Trust me NOT SO. We have a great mail person, but when he is off his substitute is terrible. Many times we do not get our mail until dinner time. So please be patient with them there is nothing that you can send across country or into Canada for the price of a stamp.

I am excited with my recent Janome 12000 purchase. However, when I open Horizon Link to look at a downloaded design saved in the Horizon ebmf folder, desktop does not appear in the left hand column. As a result, I can not access the design in order to send it to the sewing machine. Any and all help is appreciated.

the Janome Horizon Memory Craft 12000, Volume 1. This volume covers the sewing
functions of the machine, including all of the SET screens as well as all of the
Application (T-shirt) screens. We've also included 3 bonus videos. The guide is
provided on an interactive DVD, which can be used on any computer that has a DVD
drive and a web browser, Windows, Mac or Linux. The information in the videos is
either covered in much greater depth than the owner's manual, or is not included
in the manual at all.

We've prepared a sample video to give you some idea of what they are like.
Because of bandwidth restrictions, we have greatly compressed it. This results
in much lower quality, but all of the content is there. Here's the link for the
sample:

The introductory price of the video guide is $39.95, with free shipping
worldwide. However we have prepared a special page for members of this group
where you can get a $10 discount, bringing it down to $29.95. Here's the link

I have been out of the loop lately. Is this a DVD on the 12000? If so how do I order it?

Thanks

The DVDs have been produced and we will ship all outstanding orders tomorrow. It's doubtful that the Frisco Post Office will get them on the road before Monday. Those of you in the US should have them in 3-5 days. Outside the US the postal service claims 7-10 days, but the team of 3-legged dogs they use for delivery usually clocks in at 10-14 days. In any case we want to thank everyone for you patience!

Re: Horizon Video Guide DVD - false alarm

Jim,

I was quite certain that it would, as I don't like going into my "Virtual Machine" if I don't need to - to many extra steps to have fun.

Thanks.

As sure as the Pope wears a funny hat! I won't ship anything that doesn't work on a Mac.

Hi Jim,

Will the DVD work fine on the MAC OS X version 10.8.2

I have created a Windows 8 computer and the DVD works perfectly using the Internet Explorer 10 that installs with Windows 8. It does not work correctly with Google Chrome, which ironically is the browser we recommend. We will advise this on the DVDs that we ship, so as soon as our DVDs are manufactured we will commence shipping.

Thanks to everyone for your orders and your patience!
