Once the software is installed and open, you can change the language to French.  There are quite a few languages included in the Tools>Options menu.

I recently damaged my embroidery unit for my 15000, so am trying to use my 10000. We all know the programs only work on older laptops, somyquestion is, isthereaby way that I can transfer from a jump drive directly into my machine via the connection that is supposed to be hooked up to the laptop? I have tons of files in the Jef format, but do not know how to get them into the machine, the AcuDesign shows the hoops for the 10,000, but I don’t know if I can transfer.

I don’t know how long it will take to fix my embroidery unit, as the dealer is only open a few days a week and it is appointment by phone only, and so far he has not answered my calls.
very frustrating.....
thanking you in advance for any responses.

Re: 550e embroidery machine

Thank you for your response, I am looking more into YouTube videos and checking out different mistakes that are made with machine embroidery, good point with the packing materials, I will look in the bobbin area and such just to be sure there is no micro pieces in there

And for oiling, should you oil before using your machines?

Personally, not being any kind of expert, but I would tend to doubt it is threads...top and/or bottom...and definitely would not think stabilizer would cause such an error. I hope I am wrong for your sake if no other reason...lol.

However, I would make sure the needle was properly installed, presser foot was properly installed and tight enough to not be wiggling around during stitching, that the bobbin was installed correctly and the ‘right’ one for a Janome machine...I only use Janome bobbins in my 3 machines (15000, 11000, and a Kenmore made by Janome)...and didn’t have even a tiny thread tip hanging off anywhere from being wound, and check bobbin case and race, etc.

I would make as sure as possible that nothing was ‘binding/touching’ in the needle/presser foot up/down area (tiny piece of packing, etc.) that might trigger a sensor or interfere with movement. If I put any of it together, I would re-do everything I did before, including unplugging and re-seating all cords, etc.  I tend to blame myself first and recheck everything I did...even when I am sure I did everything correctly.

I don’t have a 550e, so I couldn’t possibly ‘guess’ about it too much, but a friend got a 14000 and the removable embroidery unit was not being recognized by the machine at first power up, so I got a frantic phone call that evening. No packing protective tape or tiny bits of foam packing still in the machine or over contacts, etc., I had them remove the arm and gently rub a clean pencil eraser across the contacts. (Long standing IT trick for expansion cards and other connection points).  Amazing what a teensy bit of metal oxidation while the machine is warehoused safely in its original packaging will cause to go wrong, but I had a very happy friend a few minutes later, and no problems with the machine since then...it’s about 2 years ago now. Lol.

Also, I got the error on my 15000 when I powered it on once. I had been quilting some small kitchen items with Insul-Brite (metallic insulating batting) and still had the quilting guide bar inserted into the Acufeed presser foot. The end of the bar had tipped up slightly during power off/power on procedures and was ‘touching’ (something...not sure what) upward and on the left of the needle.  It didn’t appear to be an issue, but it ticked off my 15000 something awful.  Turning it down toward the next piece of quilting on the machine bed resolved the error...but mine is a bit different that your 550e since it is a sewing/embroidery combo machine.

Good luck. Hope it is something simple.  Terrible to get a new machine that is contrary right out of its box.

Thanks for your suggestions, Cheryl. My dealer had only 1 suggestion:  email or call Janome Tech Support in Mahwah, NJ.  I chose to call and was connected immediately to a tech asst who was very helpful.  Good experience with them.  Since I had not found the HLS CD, she suggested that I download it from Janome website (I have since found it) .  The problem is I can't connect to WiFi, which started the original problem.  However, my computer is still in the hands of repair person and he connected to his WiFi and downloaded HLS and even my designs were still on the hard drive.   We've had a couple of days of snow and cold so have not ventured out to pick up the PC.  Once I have it at home, hopefully with updated Win 10 the new router will recognize the PC (or vice versa), and I will have again have internet.

Thanks to all in this wonderful group for taking time to help resolve issues we encounter with our machines.

CraftSale - Inventory App for Handcrafters

Disclaimer: Jim, I was really struggling if I should post such an article in your forum or not. I don't want to call in any favor - actually you already helped me so much - so don't be shy to discard this post if you find it not appropriate. I would completely understand! All the best!

Dear list,

Apple has just approved my new app "CraftSale" for the App Store, and I'd like to share the news with you: CraftSale is an inventory for articles of (textile) handcrafters, selling on markets or fairs. Articles can be entered with various properties, organized in individual lists, and their stock and sales can be tracked . The app is running on iPhones / iPads with iOS 14 and all data is synched between devices via iCloud.

Although CraftSale is addressing a niché - and was mainly written for my wife selling self-made clothes at fairs - it might be interesting for some of you. The app can the tested for free with max. 20 articles per shop, more items require an In-App purchase.

Enjoy testing CraftSale, and I'd love to have your feedback here in the list, or your rating / review in Apple's App Store!

Greetings, Mattes

Hi Anne ,
I never received a code for free trial. I see an offer in Instagram from janome canada that is $899 Canadian. That translates to $672 usd. Is that offer available in USA? Is Canadian version any different from is version?
Many thanks

If you have the software have you had a chance to watch any of the built in videos? There are over 60 videos built into the program and the developer adds more each month. Many have found those very useful in getting started.

A few of the favorite features are PaintStitch, create floral and auto digitize.

I know Facebook isn't for everyone but we've built a nice community there. There are live tutorials weekly and there have been Saturday classes where you can work along with the educator. Many are finding great success with the program through the interaction with the FB page. There are a range of users from those who have never used software to very experienced users some who have used other software but now prefer AD.  It's quite exciting to see what they are all accomplishing.

Carole,

When you get your computer sorted, you will need to install Horizon Link Suite from the CD’s you got with your machine. Then I think you can just do the update that your dealer should have provided when you did the Version 3 upgrade of your 15000. If you’ve lost that, as it may have gone to never-neverland with your computer, you should be able to get that download again from your dealer. If that doesn’t work contact Janome Tech Support. I’m only suggesting the dealer as it may be faster than going through Tech Support - as they are so busy.

Re: 550e embroidery machine

Hello Tericloth---- Well, if you just got the machine yesterday and it is acting up already, I would ask for a replacement machine. A brand new machine should not be acting up the day after you get it. I suspect your dealer did not take the machine out of the box and give it the once -over before handing it over to you.  A machine that is not right from the get-go could be a lemon----and you want to avoid that, for sure!!  I speak from experience with a machine of a different brand. It had some problem at the very beginning and never worked properly the whole time I had it, which was a short time.Too many trips back and forth to the dealer to "fix" it, even had to be sent to the company's repair depot in another state.  I am happy with my 500e--have had it for almost 2 years, and aside from getting a replacement one before I even took mine home----I saw the salesperson drop the box on a cement floor---I have had no problems.  Good luck, and happy stitching!!

Artistic digitiser language settings

Ruthkhd@...

I am thinking of purchasing Artistic Digitiser and because I live in France will need to buy through a retailer here, this may be a silly question but will the software be in French or English? Can the language settings be changed? Whilst my language skills are improving day by day at the moment more ‘technical’ things such as software are easier in my first language.

Workbook for Janome S9

Hi, would anyone know if the workbook that is suitable for the Janome 15000 be suitable for the S9?   I'm told the S9 is a scaled down version of the 15000.   Regards, Mary

The update to V3.0 was sent out from Janome when the Dealer notified them that you purchased the upgrade to the machine.
If you purchased the "Quiltmaker" edition of the machine then your HLS installation CD is the V3.0

Re: WiFi/Network

Most PC technicians would assume that the V3.0 update would also include what's in V1.1, and would like try to install that by itself. Janome updates work differently, and if the V3 update does not find V1.1 or 1.2 it might ask for a non-existent activation code. If that's not the case you may need to talk to Janome Tech Support.

WiFi/Network

Carole O'Mara

I have the 15000 connected wirelessly to my PC (Win 8).  We had to get a new router to increase speed for our computers.  The PC will not connect to the new router. It shows that the new network exists but does not give me choice to connect--only message is 'disconnect'.  So I have no internet.  The PC is now in the hands of a technician to update to Win 10, thinking that Win 8 is not compatible with new router.  He told me that when he updates to Win 10 it will clear everything off the hard drive and I will have to reinstall Horizon Link Suite.  I have backed up all my designs to thumb drives and tested them on my 15000 and they are all there.

In researching re-installing HLS he gets a message that an activation code is needed.  Where do I get an activation code?  Since I have no internet to the PC he will have to install HLS V1, then update to V3.0.  This PC is a dedicated computer for embroidery only and is the only PC we have.  Our other computers are MACs and the new network connected to them immediately.

Any suggestions as to how to install HLS once update to Win 10 would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Carole in CO
