Thanks for all you do Jim. Thanks for keeping the old Yahoo group messages available. I search them often when I run into issues and they are a great help.  A few months ago my 15000 started giving me the dreaded "Raise needle up and turn off and back on again" error. I have tried to re-create it to figure out what the problem is. After searching and reading past messages from the Yahoo site I think it may have to do with the sensor and the needle plate. Every time I turn the machine on it occurs  ~10 times. I have started pushing the button to pop up the needle plate and restarting and it seems to have helped somewhat. Last time it only took 3 tries. Since moving from IN with a wonderful dealer, I have no choice but to drive 1.5 hours away to Fredericksbug, VA to a dealer who is very competent at repairing most smaller machines, but has little experience with 15000's and doesn't even sell that model. If I take it in, what sensor should I ask him to look at replacing? It has been in twice (also was upgraded) and he hasn't been able to diagnose it yet. Is there anything else I can look at to try and ensure that is the issue? Thanks.

Cynthia

We will miss you here in Wisconsin/Iowa.  Im sure it is much Warmer there in Dallas than it is here on the
banks of the Mississippi River.   Sounds like several have answered your request for a dealer near you
that has a good service person.

Hey all;
I have moved to Dallas in the last year from Iowa.  I had a really good service person/local quilt shop just the town over.
I see there are several dealers in the area but I don't know anything about them and living in a city is a lot different from small towns where you can just ask around.....anyway it is time for my 12000s yearly check up.  Wondering if anyone knows anything about the dealers around Dallas
Thanks
Lori

The upgrade is supposed to be free in the US.  The $150.00 is for the new feet that were developed for the New Quiltmaker.  After you have the upgrade installed your machine will now be exactly like the brand new machine

My husband bought my last machine at Willets. It is a Janome Dealer located in Mckinney off 380.  I have been in there a few times and they always seem to be helpful.

There are 2 dealers that are good in area. I go to Denton Sewing Center in Denton. 40-50 minute drive for me. There’s also Thomas  Sewing Center in Mesquite off 635. They have specific Janome classes. Where in Dallas are you?

Hi Lori, welcome to Big D! If you've already been to the Janome website, you've seen that there are no dealers in Dallas proper, but one in every suburb. Given the size of the Metroplex (which is where you now live), you'll probably want a dealer that is reasonably close. I may not be the best person to recommend a dealer, as we were at one time in direct competition with all of them. Email me privately with your city of residence and I may be of some help. Other members of this list will likely chime in as well.

I moved here 5 years ago and found Denton Sewing Center in Denton Tex. Phone number # 940 382 4118.  They are in easy to get to location.  Just ½ block south of University on Malone Street.  They have been in business for about 40 years as it

Was started by her parents.  The husband and son run the service dept. and are very good.  They offer classes and seminars, etc.  If you sign up you will receive emails of their calender showing all events.

i really appreciate being taken along with the change of venue. This is a great group.
I also appreciate the desire to expand to take in more Janome models. I have a Skyline S7 and an MC6600 both of which I really love.

So happy to see that other Janome machines are going to be included because I have a 11000 and wasn’t sure I was allowed to ask questions.

Well I didn't expect the transfer to be as fast as it was, but here we are in our new home. My apologies for not informing you in advance. This group should work about the same as the one on Yahoo, but there are a few differences:
  • As you have noted, it is no longer the "Janome12000" group. I've named it Onlinesewing-janome, partly for shameless and blatant self-promotion, and partly to make it more open to more Janome models.
  • I've modified the old Janome12000 group on Yahoo so that all posts can still be viewed, but no new ones will be allowed. Do all your posting here.
  • Right now we're using the "free" version of Groups. There are some advantages to using a paid version and I may pop for that later, depending on how it goes.
  • Posts from existing users are no longer moderated. It has been many months since I had to delete a post that was spam or malware, so I'm going to run "bare" for the moment. Following this group as well as several on Facebook is very time-consuming. Eliminating that step may help.
  • This site has been modeled after the Yahoo groups, but a number of irritations have been fixed. I'm liking it so far, and hope you will too.
As always, thanks so much for your support.
