Re: Question
Pixey
So it has been a while since I traded in my 12000 for my 15000, but I will take a shot at answering your question. There were a lot of small refinements between the 12000 and the 15000 which individually would not seem that major, but taken collectively they added up to a much more user friendly machine.

On the surface, you have a lot more screen real estate for the actual design because the user interface does not have the “dial wheel” style of moving around that you had with the 12000. Is also felt it has a more user-friendly interface. One of the things I love with the interface of the 15000 (and subsequent embroidery machines) is the ability to follow the design with a crosshair that shows the actual path it is stitching and where it is in the design. The 15000 also tracks usage time sewing and standby status, which is helpful for keeping track of when to take it in for maintenance. I think we were all surprised to discover how much more time was spent with the machine in standby status than actually engaged in stitching. Also, the 15000 has a fully automatic needle threader. Now some members have had their threaders act glitchy, but as long as I followed the directions and locked the machine, I have never had any problem. Also, the 15000 seemed to work a lot smoother on small design elements. At the time, some members suggested that the 12000 felt like the version that had been rushed to market without sufficient user testing, but that the 15000 seemed to be the more finished product. Another thing about the 15000 is that it comes with the Acufil Quilting hoop and rather than be a separate software, it is totally integrated into the HorizonLink Suite. You don’t indicate which version of the 15000, you are thinking to upgrade to. There are actually 3. There was a version 1 machine, then they came out with a version 2 machine that seemed to fix a few minor glitches (this was the version I got), then they came out fairly recently with the Quiltmaker version. It was possible to upgrade an existing version 2 machine to the Quiltmaker level. In the US, the dealer changes out a few parts and does a software upgrade, you get a link from Janome to an upgraded version of HorizonLink Suite, and you get an additional set of “specialty feel and a special straight stitch plate to work with a true 1/4 width but also more effectively engage the feed dogs. Hope this is helpful. Pixey On Jan 6, 2019, at 3:00 PM, Cindy via Groups.Io <cmcswenson@...> wrote: |

I have that same phone however when I first got it I did not have collar ID so it didn't work. Now caller ID is included in my service so it has helped. Yes the caller Id does change on those "Robo" calls. I have reported many of those calls and it has been getting better. Our Cable company has introduced for free a program that if we register with them and again it is fee they are going to monitor our calls and the instructions are to let the phone ring 2 times and if you have blocked it in the past it will be blocked automatically. It has been in effect about 2 weeks now and it has helped tremendously. I realize though that some will slip by it will just take some time for it to work perfectly. and then maybe it won't but at least they are trying. It is called "ROBO CALL". You may want to inquire about itl

My phone provider does not offer good call blocking to my land line so I get a lot of robocalls and unwanted calls. But, I can block numbers on my iPhone. When I am out for the day and hubby is not home either I use call forwarding to forward calls to my home to my iPhone. When a call comes to the house, it forwards to my iPhone. If I don’t recognize the number I don’t answer and if they don’t leave a voice mail, I block the number. When I get home I disconnect from call forward and calls then can come to the house. You can still make outgoing calls from the home phone even if Call Forward is on. This has worked and has stopped a lot of calls to the house. But they do call from different numbers so it’s never ending, but does slow things down.

I will google robokiller and check it out. I also am an embroider and digitizer. I get so many call each day from digitizing companies wanting to digitize for me. I tell them to take me off their list and that I'm not about to give them my business! Then when they start to explain something to me, I interrupt them, and then tell them to give me their business! They usually hang up on me then, lol GINGER Custom embroidery and stock designs On January 6, 2019 at 4:48 PM "onlinesewing via Groups.Io" <onlinesewing@...> wrote: |

My brother has the robokiller, it is funny how it continues to talk with the callers and wears them out.

It is possible with today's technology to make the caller ID of a phone call appear to be anything you want. This opens the door for endless streams of miscreants trying to separate you from your personal information and money. If there really were a breach Apple is not going to personally call every one of their customers! They would likely use email, though that can be spoofed as well. If you get a call from Apple, Microsoft, or any company that you are doing business with DO NOT give out any information. Instead log into the website by typing in the address, NOT by clicking an email link. If there really is a problem you will know. |

I was very stupid the week before Christmas. I got hacked big time, but was able to beat the hackers from buying on my paypal, bank account and credit card. I woke up one morning and saw the mouse moving all over the screen. I tried to stop it, thinking it was just a weird thing happening. The hacker then called me on the house phone with the caller ID of Comcast (my server). Dummy me I answered his question, gave him access to fix the problem, but it was not Comcast. While he was all over my computer I called Comcast directly. They told me to turn off the computer immediately, but he prevent me from moving the mouse to the shut down. Then they told me to quickly pull the plug! Which I did. Then I saw when I could then sign on the computer minutes later that he bought 3-$200.00 gift card to target. I got intouch with Target, got them voided, then saw money would still be withdrawn now from my bank account. I got there before they did, and closed the account, then saw the charges would now be on my credit card, and I closed that account. It took a week working with companies 7 to 10 hrs a day, but finally it's all fixed. My computer has to go in to the Geek Squad to get it cleaned out, But all is good now. My husband asked me why I spoke with the man who showed up on the called ID from Comcast, and I told him I thought it was Comcast. I was told that Comcast will NEVER call you. I didn't know that ...no one ever told me. Big lesson learned. I found out no server will call you. I also have a very expensive security system, but they beat that too! I hope no one ever takes a call from their server, they don't call you GINGER Custom embroidery and stock designs On January 6, 2019 at 2:48 PM "onlinesewing via Groups.Io" <onlinesewing@...> wrote: |

Re: Using a USB extension cord
The official limit is set at 16 feet. However it won't hurt to try a longer cable. Just measure it out and get the shortest cable that will reach.

Re: Using a USB extension cord
My machine is in another room. I see that extensions come as long as 25'. What cord should I buy? I'm pretty sure my cord is a 6'. I really miss using the cord instead of the flash drive.
