Glide is a tri-lobal polyester, which like other polys will fray/shred with the easiest excuse. Try using a metallic rather than top-stitch needle. The metallic also has a large eye and groove, but it's especially designed to prevent shredding.
If you aren't using one, try putting a thread net over the spool and it will even out the tension and prevent the thread catching against the spool base as it unwinds. You "may" need to adjust tension just slightly for this. To determine if it's really mechanical/physical or just that particular spool of thread, try another poly thread on sample fabric, batting and backing to see what happens. It can be devilishly difficult to figure out sometimes. Jan

Carole did you install the HL for the quilt maker or upgrade your existing HL. I had to contact Janome for a code to upgrade to the quilt maker HL Virginia. Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7.

If you look in your manual it shows the table. If you purchased from a dealer you should have received it Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7.

It must be your provider. This is the first I have heard of this. Interesting. Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7.

I had a similar issue in that the first device logged in to access the WiFi that day basically inhibited other devices from getting access to them until I logged out of that first device. I would check with the internet provider – there are some checks and adjustments they can do remotely to fix this issue.

I often have problems with WiFi on the 15000, rarely able to connect with the iPad. Is your computer near your machine, I wonder sometimes if you’re too close it has problems. I also think the 15000 is very greedy with the WiFi channel. If I turn the WiFi on, on the machine other devices in the house can’t connect to the WiFi, I have to turn the WiFi off on the machine so that husbands Mac can get out onto the net or my iPad etc. Normally our phones iPads and computers are all on the net, but 8nce the machines on it, the rest struggle to.

I had the same problem when I moved my sewing room downstairs. The WiFi signal worked perfectly when it was about 800 ft from the router, but once the 15000 was moved, I got the same message you’re getting. I called my cable/Wi_Fi company and had them upgrade the box. It now works perfectly. Either that or try moving them closer together.

The thread is spooling off fine and I’m using Glide thread which is a 50 wt. in top and bobbin. Been using Glide for over a year with no problems until now.

I am Ruler template quilting so I can’t change the foot. I have to use the high sided ruler foot to do this.

Yes there is, in the UK it came with the machine, it’s needed as with the 12000 for the bigger hoops with embroidery.

WiFi and setting quilt dimensions
Carole O'Mara
First - I had to reinstall HLSuite on the 15000 QuiltMaker and I think it erased all my HLS settings. Now, when I open AcuFil the dimensions boxes are in mm. How do I set them to inches?
Second - I am showing a WiFi signal on both computer and 15000, but when I try to SEND, it asks me to connect to USB. I opened a dialog box and my options were USB or WiFi. I selected WiFi and message said I had to connect to WiFi. Where am going wrong? TIA, Carole - Colorado Springs

The plastic extension table,
I have one for the 12000, but it doesn't fit the 15000. Is there one for the 15000? Maureen

What thread and weight are you using top and bottom? Is your top thread spooling off smoothly and not catching on something which
is pulling on the thread? I would then check to see how smooth the bobbin thread is wound and make sure it is seated correctly in the bobbin holder. Just some thoughts. I'm sure others may have their thoughts. Julia

Re: Thread problem? Photos
It's hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like your quilt has a bit of loft in the batting. This can create high and low spots, so it's hard to keep the foot just skimming the quilt. Try using the PD-H foot (either closed or open toe) instead, with option 1 in the Free Quilting application. If there is too much space between the foot and the quilt you can run into problems like this. Using a hopping foot solves that.

Thread problem? Photos
Barbara Dierolf
Based on the two photos I’ve attached can anyone tell me what the problem is? I have re-threaded, wound and inserted a new bobbin, changed my needle, checked the tension setting on machine and cleaned the bobbin area. Nothing seems to help completely stop this shredding and top looping.
I’m using Glide thread in top and bottom. The bobbin has no burrs. The needle is a new 99/14 top stitch needle. I’m sewing on cotton with QuiltersvDream Select batting. I live my Janome 15000 but this is making me crazy.
