Re: Quilting guide
Virginia
You can use your accufeed foot (walking foot) or your straight stitch foot A. The bar goes to the back of the foot on your accufeed foot and the bar goes on the shank (attachment) that your A foot attaches to.

Re: Quilting guide

The manual does show the quilting guide bar placements, and it's real easy...you just slide the guide bar into the small hole on the side of the 'foot holder' including Acufeed. In the v.3 update manual, you can check out pg 61 and pg 95. If you don't have that version/manual, it is available for download on Janome's website...or download the manual for your version...the PDF manuals are searchable. I apologize...I don't have the link handy right now or I would include it.

Carole the needle does not move in embroidery your hoop does so perhaps something is not right with how you have your needle in.

Just turned machine on. OKAY to resume last pattern. Needle in left hole. Did needle up/down. Came down in left hole. Stayed in left hole when needle up. Hoop moves into position. Needle still in left hole.

Mine does too both on my 15,000 and my 9400. It always did on my 12,000, and my 7700 as well. I just had to remember to be sure my needle is all the way up in the shank and I always do needle up and down one time to be sure it is in the right position.

If you've used your handwheel to move the needle up or down the needle threader might not be in the correct position so try the needle up/down first. My needle threader works all the time even while doing embroidery. Ceil

Thanks, Dottie,
I did a search for "hairdo" and found nothing so I guess foolishly didn't copy them onto my computer. I hope my dealer will be able to help me out when I take the machine in for her annual cleaning. Thank you again. Ceil

Re: USB drive with R18 hoop
I’ve got 2 RE18 hoops got USB sticks with both, opens ok on my computer, moved them across, reformatted the USB and use it on my machines no problem, as a working USB with other designs. Nobody tries to pinch it as a spare cos it’s got Janome on it, and it isn’t big enough lol handy things to have around. I also pick up the small older USB sticks, the ones that have been pushed to the back of the drawer no l9nger any good, too small. I’ve reformatted and they are also in service on my machines.

Re: USB drive with R18 hoop
Cat - N
I have not stitched any of them out yet, but some of them, I think, are pretty cute and I will probably get around to trying some of them eventually. I am not saying any of them are 'not' nice, but I especially liked some of the "Animals" designs...there is a darling pug (dog) face, as I recall, but there are others as well that I would like to see stitched out. I have just been too busy for far too long and haven't had time in which to just play with the embroidery machines. To be fair to the RE18 designs, I haven't had time to stitch any of the embroidery designs that came pre-loaded on the 15000 either...LOL
I got my RE18 Essentials Hoop in 2016 and I put the designs on my computer at that time. I haven't looked at the USB disk since then so I don't know if my computer can still read it or not.
Can your dealer get you a copy of the designs? I am not sure I would trust that USB disk (even re-formatted), but maybe, if you took a 'good' USB disk, the dealer could load the designs on there for you.

I bought it several years ago and wanted to see if there was anything worth using as I can not remember. The computer told me there was something wrong with it so I tried it in another USB port with the same result and then tried it on a Windows 7 computer which didn't even recognize that the USB was plugged into a spot (I tried a few).
Is this worth pursuing with Janome? The designs are so small on their website that it's difficult to evaluate them. Any thoughts? Ceil

One feature I would really like on a new model and would buy up for is to able to bring all stitches INCLUDING buttonholes into the hoop. Pfaff has had this for fifteen years and is such a useful item. I do all my buttonholes in the hoop as they are then perfectly spaced and aligned. It doesn’t matter how variable the fabric is. Leather or satin you get a beautiful result. Having to go to HL to get stitches for the hoop is very cumbersome and I have to go to my old Pfaff to get the buttonholes and then save as emb file and send to 15000. As a former coder ..... this shouldn’t be a big deal to add to software.
Thanks
