I have had this same problem but I wasn't embroidering just piecing. I'll
be following this link too.

No, you don't have to change to ordinary sewing before turning off the machine. It's only necessary to do that if you want to remove the embroidery unit after powering down, because until the embroidery arm is "parked" you can't close it.

Your power-up problem was not caused by lint. It's probably a sensor issue, and it may go away after all the parts in the machine get comfortable with one another. If not, your dealer can make an adjustment.

I finished embroidering last night and chose regular stitching before I shut off the 12k. Do we still have to do that? Can you turn it off when you're in the middle of an embroidery design?

This morning, I had a problem. It kept saying raise presser foot and needle. I raised the presser foot and raised the needle and restarted a few times. Still had the same error message. Took off the needle plate and cleaned around the bobbin holder and it now works. It already had quite a bit of lint there. I guess this machine is very sensitive. Have only had it a couple weeks.

Sure glad it's working again!

Digitizer MBX misbehaving - or maybe it's me

I am trying to change a single line stitch to a triple stitch on a design which I purchased from Embroidery Library. I have not had any problems tweaking a design in the past, but now I can't even access what I need. I selected the object in Easy Edit, went to object details where I used to be able to change the type of stitch and all it gives me is information about where that object is. Help!
Thanks for any information you can provide - I'm at my wit's end!

Don't worry about missed classes. In June Trevor will send you a DVD with all the classes on it. That's how he does it.

Have fun!

Hi Elisif
if you have MBX software you can do print out's of your designs
in colour layers and the info for stitches per colour, thead
usage etc are included, I also miss this feature on the machine,
maybe Janome might do an update and incude it.
Hope this helps
Kind Regards

I can't find this information on dhe embroidering machine. I have Janome MC12000.
Earlier I had Pfaff CV, and on this machine it was possible to se how many stitch each colur count on the machine.

Maybe, there is no such information on the Janome?

Re: ord sewing mode - Lettering

Jim_Stutsman <jim@...>

When you enter letters or stitch combinations, the machine will show a "best guess" for the overall length of the stitches. However many things will affect the stitched length, and the displayed number may way off. In that case you can adjust the number with the + and - keys to get it closer to the real value. From then on other patterns you may enter will have a more accurate length displayed.

This feature first appeared on the 7700, but on that machine you cannot adjust the measurement. The intent is so you can see if something will fit in the space you need it to fit in. It could be used, for example, to make sure a pattern or lettering would work with the circle stitcher. Of course you would also need to calculate the circumference of the circle, factoring in the tides, phase of the moon, stretch of the fabric, age of your first born, and other less precise values. Or you could sew a sample and adjust until it's right. Your call!

When you are programming letters in Ord Sewing Mode and you press the screen that has the programmed letters showing, you get a message asking you for the actual distance of the programmed letters you've sewn -- (not word for word -- but similar). I've stitched out the letters and used the + and - keys that show with that screen and stitched again - and measured trying to find the purpose. I don't get the correlation and the measurement doesn't agree with anything I've sewn or measured. Any clues, anyone?
Probably clear as mud?!

Don't be down on your dealer - the 12000 is very different from previous machines and has a LOT to teach. And before you can teach it, you have to learn it yourself. It's been a very big job for Diane, and she doesn't have a store to run at the same time!

Joy, the hint was aimed spcifically at me, and in Gt Britain, nudge nudge wink wink, means 'I'm making a big hint', no doubt it means the same in the USA and elsewhere. So I let him know I had read and acted on his hint.

What was he hinting? that I offer help and support to another 12000 member reference digitising, via my unlisted Yahoo group. Why is it unlisted, it's a group for those who are serious about learning to digitise, and are willing to make the effort and commitment, I wont spoon feed them.
