Re: Tension problems for Ordinary Sewing
You really should be using the bobbin case with the red dot for ordinarysewing. The book is quite clear on this. Change the bobbin case andI’m sure the problem will be solved.

Re: HomeBrew Vertical Spool Pin
Sure, I think that would work just as well. You just need enough CD surface to hold the spool without letting the thread fall over the edge.

Re: Quilt binding info
Yes, the same binder attachment does fit the 12000. However you must also have a high shank foot holder (7700 or 11000 works) to snap on the foot that comes with the binder.

HomeBrew Vertical Spool Pin
Is it possible to you the very small CD instead of the regular sized one and get the same results for the Vertical Spool Pin? I happen to have one that is bad and thought perhaps to get some use out

Re: Quilt binding info
I found the corner video to be very helpful. I love this binder and am wondering if the one I used on the horizon will fit the 12,000? Is it just a matter of using a different shank?
Thanks, Kim

Jim,
Ok, I tested with a straight stitch. I cut the thread above the needle hole as instructed and pulled and found resistance.

When the machine is threaded and set for straight stitch #1, sew an inch or so and stop, leaving the foot down. Cut the needle thread at the front of the needle, above the eye, grab the free end and

Initially I had a problem connecting with HorizonLink. It was late when I was setting up my machine so attributed it to my tiredness. I read somewhere that there was an upgrade available so installed

Jim,
Thanks for that advice. I tried that but nothing caught in there. I assume you're talking about the upper tension area in the area that is numbered "3". No luck.
Could it be something with

Re: Tension problems for Ordinary Sewing
It sounds like the tension is not operating correctly. There might be something stuck in there, like a small piece of styrofoam packing. Turn it off and raise the presser foot as high as it will go.

Re: bobbin thread included with machine
That's actually understandable. A lot of people buy commercial bobbin thread on large cones. It's much finer than Janome bobbin thread, and will pull up with a normal bobbin case. Perhaps that's why

Have you installed the 1.01 update to your machine? It is for adding some languages, as well as correcting "minor issues." We had intermittent connection problems with our machine before installing

Re: bobbin thread included with machine
The instruction manual actually says to change the bobbin holder for all bobbin threads except Janome, which I thought was interesting.
